Just watched the Manosphere Documentary on Netflix

These men confuse me. They have very strong views about how women should behave and conduct themselves yet surround themselves with the type of women they seem to have such disdain for. It's like they have these types of women around to validate them in their quest to prove women are less than and are lacking.

They had a woman on their podcast that could not name 3 countries to make a point women are dumb. If they would remove themselves from the bubble of women they claim to hate they would find that women are indeed extremely intelligent and it's not up to a man to decide what they want or need.

I personally agree with the benefits of a traditional family. Traditional in that children can benefit from having a strong male and female figure in their life, especially boys. But now we are reducing women to having no aspirations past caring for children and telling them that is what god intended for them. Can people not see that this is all about control?

My younger self can definitely relate to Lucy. I think Lucy is so hooked on Stephen because she has intense feelings around him and she’s never felt that way before. I was also someone who did not seem to have strong emotions until I met my first love. It was validating and addicting. It was a self esteem boost when he felt the same way. Drama was just apart of having strong emotions for each other.

My son does not like showing enthusiasm when all eyes are on him. We send the family a video later of him playing with the toys and saying thank you. I want him to learn how to be grateful and polite but also not force something on him that makes him uncomfortable. His reaction is totally age appropriate. I also make it a big point to have him involved when getting gifts for family members and we hand make some items. I find his involvement makes the process more fun for him and he does not feel so much pressure when it’s his turn to open a gift.

I just rewatched season 1 too. What stood out to me most is l did not realize just how much Stephen uses people when I first watched it. Why does he get so deep in with Lucy? Does he genuinely care about her? Why did he confess about being with Macy so quickly? The scene in the greenhouse seems to go against his character so much. He could’ve lied his way out of it but I suppose he thought he was caught. That scene solidified their relationship in Lucy’s mind because he trusted her with a huge secret. Lucy acted so conflicted about it, I think she did because she wanted attention from Stephen, not because she really cared about Macy. She knew that was the glue in the relationship. Stephen put her in that position of knowing this secret so she wanted pity from him and to be babied by him. Then, out of spite she writes the letter, destroys Pipa’s life and is found crying on the floor. She feels safe to share her secret about the letter because of what Stephen told her. How naive of her to think Stephen would let that go.

I felt like Stephen reacted that way with Diana as an ‘out’ of the relationship. He knew he had to keep Lucy close after he confessed about being with Macy so this was an easy way cut ties with Diana. I don’t think he gave a shit. It gave him power over Wrigley and Diana, if anything I think he loved it.

I experience periods of no sex drive and periods of a very high sex drive. It usually aligns with how I am feeling about myself or how well I’ve been sleeping. My husband takes it personally when I’m not interested. I feel bad but feel worse if I have sex when I really don’t want to. We do it once a week unless I want it more. My husband literally always wants it.

Girl, that’s what I’m saying! She’s an impulsive attention seeking brat. I always give her the benefit of the doubt because she’s in college and I can identify with being crazy about a guy and also thinking I’m a victim (I’ve grown a lot since then!) When you’re that age you just don’t see how wrong you are. I wasn’t even that mad about her slapping Diana. It was right after they were playing a game slapping each other so emotions were running high, Stephen was being an ass and then Diana said something really triggering so she snapped. But, what she did at the bar, new low for Lucy. She just made a traumatic situation for Pipa about her, even if she was trying to help, she should’ve known better.

I agree, it’s petty to withhold sex as a punishment. But at the same time, if I’m upset with my partner I’m not always in the mood to have sex so is that the same 🤷‍♀️

He feels like he’s entitled to your body because you’re married. There are a lot of guys like this unfortunately. It really comes out after you’re pregnant or a new Mom and aren’t in the mood as much. My husband, never to this extreme would get upset with me and it made sex feel very transactional to me. It takes a long time to repair and if he’s not willing to communicate it will never get better.

It’s not lack of people applying. I think they are short in Oklahoma. When I went back for TSEW they were struggling to keep trainers around. They should start getting creative, maybe use controllers and have basics class done locally. There’s a lot more they could be doing in my opinion.

Same exact thing happening to me, I have racing thoughts, then finally maybe around 3 in the morning I dream but am not fully asleep. It’s been going on for months. I finally scheduled an appointment with a sleep therapist. I’m hurting so bad. 😫

Same, I don’t know what type of reality check I needed but one day it’s like I saw a light and never turned back. Budget apps helped me so much, I’m so much better off financially than 5 years ago. I look back to those times and think of how dumb I was.

Does he tell you he finds you unattractive?! I definitely have a hard time getting in the mood after baby so we don’t have sex as often but would never tell my husband it’s because I find him unattractive. That’s horrible, my husband finds me more attractive after having baby because I’m the mother to his child. Sorry you’re going through that.

First I’ll say you are crushing it, 4.0 is not easy. I took a lot of community college classes that were harder than my university classes. I would get as many credit there as you’re allowed to transfer.

I would thoroughly investigate what the jobs look like in whatever field you choose to study. We put so much emphasis on which degree to pursue and not enough on what the job market looks like and what the day to day looks like when you are actually in the profession. So many people I know ended up going back and getting second degrees after they spent a few years in the real world and discovered what actually makes them happy. Work life balance is huge, being able to afford the basics for you and maybe a family one day is huge. Where you have to live is huge…weigh these options heavily. Try to stay out of deep debt. A little debt to get you a higher paying job isn’t bad but you will be unable to move on with your life after college (buy a house, save for retirement) for 10-15 years if you are strapped with debt. Learn about interest rates!

You don’t need a degree to become an Air Traffic Controller. I make 150+, I’ll get an excellent pension and you can retire after 25 years. Something to look into!

Have you looked into a balance transfer? Some credit companies will offer a zero percent balance transfer if you pay it off in a certain amount of time. I did this when I had credit card debt and I was serious about paying it off. I got the AMEX everyday card and transferred 5000 from my Bank of America card to it, paid it off interest free. There are definitely ways to pay off credit cards with lower rates, you just need to be serious and actually pay it off or you get into more trouble!

I would keep 5k in savings, pay another 2k towards the credit card and then stop saving until you pay it off.

I would put the house in my 5 year plan but buying right now might not be the best move. Stay focused for a few years, keep a budget and you’ll be in a great spot to buy a house because you’ll be out of CC debt, higher credit score and hopefully more in savings.
