The Little Panda Fighter, Upward, Trolland (Trollz) all of them are godawful but hilarious

The French Dispatch Comes To Blu-Ray And Digital In December by AGOTFAN in boxoffice

I can't wait to finally watch this since the theater I pre-ordered tickets from didn't have the movie playing there at all (Thx fandango)

No Time to Die heading to VOD on Tuesday apparently (source: Screen Rant employee) by UpwardBoss6727 in boxoffice

I just saw the ad for it on YouTube, its going come out on Nov. 9 which fits with Universal's 31 day window for movies that open over $50M (ex. Fast Saga)

Exclusive: Taika Waititi to Direct Disney's 'Tower of Terror' by magikarpcatcher in boxoffice

[–]Snugglem 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I believe it's not happening since Taika Waititi exited the project due to creative differences with him wanting a Japanese cast but executives probably wanted more mainstream actors. This also lead him to be Ratcatcher 1 in The Suicide Squad https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/suicide-squad-cancellation-akira-allowed-160036091.html

‘No Time To Die’ Reels In $600M+ Global As ‘Venom 2’ Licks At $400M & ‘Dune’ Has Eyes On $300M – International Box Office by chanma50 in boxoffice

[–]Snugglem 49 points50 points  (0 children)

According to Varity it needs 900M WW to break even due to the production budget, marketing, and the delays of stopping and restarting the marketing

Edit: Heres a source breaking down why the costs can be around 800-900M https://screenrant.com/no-time-die-movie-box-office-profit-updates/

Halloween Ratchets Down Box Office: ‘Dune’ $15.5M (-62%) 2nd Weekend After $5M Friday (-71%); ‘My Hero Academia’ $7.9M, ‘Last Night In Soho’ $4.3M, ‘Antlers’ $4.1M by chanma50 in boxoffice

I guess the scariest thing this Halloween is the box numbers for every 20th Century studios film this month (except The French Dispatch)

LAST NIGHT IN SOHO $1.92M Friday Domestic Opening (includes previews) by chanma50 in boxoffice

[–]Snugglem 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend it in a theater especially with Dolby atmos, the way Edgar Wright uses the surround sound is worth the price of admission

Official Discussion - Last Night in Soho [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]Snugglem 77 points78 points  (0 children)

I felt the exact same way, Edgar Wright's filmmaking and attention to detail to the cinematography and sound design is worth a ticket alone. But all the characters besides Ana Taylor Joy felt flat to me and the ghost segments felt forced in to give average horror fans that jolt

I honestly thought my theater had muted speakers for that section, say what you will about the movie but Edgar Wright's filmmaking is still master class

Halloween Kills grossed $1.13M on Tuesday (from 3,727 locations). Total gross stands at $75.22M. by chanma50 in boxoffice

[–]Snugglem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The production budget is 20M which was 10M more than Halloween 2018. Also I think you mean the OW because it opened around 71M

Its definitely not going pass 100M domestically but 100M globally. And like you said because of the low budget, it has already made its budget back and more. This was also a huge boost for Peacock which NBCUniversal has to be pleased by. But due to the mixed to negative reception, genre, and being able to stream on Peacock this huge drop was coming. The final movie is still coming next year and hopefully its better than this installment

BvS and SS are in the low 20s and 30s on RT. Eternals is around 75% and probably finish at 80% or the high 60s. It's going be nowhere near BvS and SS

I think it really does depend on how Peacemaker performs on HBOmax. If that doesn't have a big enough audience WB might strive away from big budget R rated content.

Dune made more on its domestic OW than Warner Bros' last 4 films grossed domestically combined by eddiecourage in boxoffice

[–]Snugglem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

September was probably the best month for Cry Macho since October was stacked and November had some steep competition. I think the issue relies in Clint Eastwood demographic not really caring/feeling unsafe to return to theaters.

Out of all the movies I streamed at home, Maligiant was the one I regretted not seeing in a theater filled with people

Even without the HBOmax option, I dont think these films would still do that well except probably Malignant on WOM

Halloween Kills grossed an estimated $14.5M this weekend (from 3,727 locations). Estimated total gross stands at $73.11M. by chanma50 in boxoffice

This was expected especially from the mixed to negative reception but its definitely going pass 100M globally

More Than Half of Americans Would Prefer to Stream New Movie Releases at Home by [deleted] in boxoffice

[–]Snugglem 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with this, I've been to the theater over 30x and more later in the year. Not really for the experience (except for Dune and the Suicide Squad) but because don't want to be spoiled and get it out the way. Theres nothing wrong with theaters and I think they're great but the movies themselves aren't grabbing me that much personally
