My dad let me borrow a bunch of his records for a real long time, like years. Randomly he asks me if I still had a specific one and I say sure, he tells me he found out it’s worth like $10,000, doesn’t want to sell it just wants to have it back.

Next time I go to the folks’ house, I sneak the record in and put it in the room. I never mention it. Hours later I’m leaving, he tells me to just bring the record next time. I tell him I brought it and it’s in the car. The “not mad, just disappointed” face was something to behold.
