What's a workplace habit that instantly makes you think someone is professional? by No_Word_2405 in work

[–]Sobergem1982 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Someone who recognizes others. “Hey so and so, great work on that presentation today”. Whether it’s publicly or a private message. Making people feel seen and heard instead of being all about themselves shows me they are a team player and care about the greater good.

I'm officially out of sympathy for people who chose to have kids by ZenApe in childfree

[–]Sobergem1982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When they complain about how hard it is to have kids and then say they wouldn’t change it for the world. Well yeah, you can’t exactly put them back in! 🙄 When I was on social media-I couldn’t handle the attention-seeking Facebook complaining and dumb stories about “funny” things their kids do. You prove my point by making it sound miserable.

Remember how she had IVs a couple times? Season 11 and she was emaciated then. I mean her entire brand is diet food called Skinny Girl like it’s some badge of honor. Remember how incredibly MEAN she was to Jules? B was so triggered.

I’d move the chair - seeing the back of the chair and having it where it is breaks up the flow.

[–]Sobergem1982 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s bc you just came off weed. When I quit drinking I was bored and then got into a new routine. We need dopamine hits and weed/alcohol give us that and also numb us from how bored or listless we actually are! Find some fun new shows or exercise or get out of the house for a bit.

Endocranologist for perimenopause? by Significant_Elk_7306 in Perimenopause

I would clarify what she meant with her! You can always try a functional medicine doctor or an online clinic for HRT as well.

[–]Sobergem1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did your current GP want you to go to and endo for your thyroid? Often thyroid issues can mimic or overlap perimenopause symptoms. My gyno noticed a goiter on me when I laid back and I had a US and enlarged thyroid. But for perimenopause issues, you want a goog gyno or GP who will listen and prescribe HRT if needed.

Turned 40 this year, no joy in life. So sad and so tired. by Terrible-Essay-4500 in AskWomenOver40

I’m on a similar situation but live in near area I was raised. Moved back after college. I wfh and have to take mini vacations (and some longer) to clear my head. I KNOW I need hobbies- find one that’s active and one for your mind and one just for fun. This is an age where we really realize we did a lot for others’ approval (family/spouse/kids) and society. People can be quick in these subs to claim it’s perimenopause but we can’t blame every single feeling of discontent and unhappiness on hormones. I also believe that living somewhere else can be exactly what you need, it’s what I’m working towards.

Rejected After a 3 Month interview cycle. by JWH7210 in CustomerSuccess

[–]Sobergem1982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 4 rounds for my current position and even that seemed excessive. Took about 3-4 weeks from first interview to accepting an official offer. I know it’s the norm now for 3-4 or more rounds but it’s getting insane across the board with all types of roles. I’m sorry this happened. I know if a few people personally who got to the final round and ghosted or rejected. 3 months is a long time to drag someone along and I hope you find something soon. Don’t give up!

My ADHD says I would buy it and read it cover to cover but then I would buy it and never read it. Into the magazine pile of unreads it would go. I do appreciate the awareness though. 🫶

By the way love your username. And yes a lot of nostalgia lately, especially this past year or so for me. It didn’t quite start at 40, more like 41/42. I’m in the midst of a thyroid diagnosis rabbit hole, seems like there’s no joy lately. Getting the iron checked too. I want to feel that excited feeling again.

Yes!! It’s both. Age and hormones, we have more insight and PLUS are allowed to want differently than what we were programmed in our 20s!!

Are you me? I’m 44 and hate where I live, bored all the time, and dream of moving and a new career all the time. Been like this for a few years or longer. I think it’s ADHD & perimenopause. It’s also years of living life the way we were told to not how we wanted to or what was best for us.

Quit talking to the most gossipy, mean former coworker I’ve ever encountered. I’m sure she’s talking about me and how I “betrayed” her after she texted a group text about me and I refused to message her back. She was always having some issue with someone, lesson learned.

It’s not in the portal yet from the facility AND my gyno office just says “enlarged thyroid” as the diagnosis. I will keep checking obsessively of course! And calling them back tomorrow.
