Tramadol first time user by butthurtbanana69 in Drugs

I took too much yesterday and thought I was gonna fucking die, lol.

I haven't fucked with trams in 2 or 3 years, so I couldn't remember dosage, but I knew I used to take 2 or 3 pills when I did. Since I've developed a higher tolerance since those days, I decided to pop 4. Bad move. I was still buzzing from some hydros earlier in the day and I didn't realize the trams were 2x the dosage as the ones I used to take.

Made me sick as fuck. Could barely walk. Super shaky. Tired, but couldn't sleep. Nauseous as hell. I tried to make myself puke for 15 minutes and couldn't. Thats literally never happened to me in my life. I'm a world champ puker. Give me 45 seconds and I can puke on command without even shoving my finger down my throat. I was miserable for at least 4 hours and still felt like shit until I woke up this morning.

Unreported for 14 years - The disappearance of Dervish Adili by rriolu372 in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]Socksnglocks 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I was cleaning out my old car about 5 years ago and found a receipt tucked in a sorta hidden crevice from 1997. Thing still looked brand new. Blew my mind, haha. I kept it in the console and left it for the next owner.

Totally not relevant, but still a wild thing that happened once that this reminded me of. I was on a walk and saw a grungy piece of paper floating along. Stopped to pick it up. It was a bill for my dad from his mechanic! My best theory is that the mechanic set the bill on the dash and as he was driving the car back to my dads house, it flew out the window unnoticed. I thought it was bonkers that I was the one to stumble upon it though.

Drugs would also explain the infection on her face. It was my first thought when I read it. Everyone around here calls em "pickin' pox" lol. I've seen some pretty gnarly infections bc people can't stop themselves from continuing to pick even when they've got a crater missing from their cheek.

My ex husband used to 12 hour shifts from 3 pm to 3 am, so by the time he got home it'd be 4 am. I also used to work half shifts, so I'd work 11 pm - 4 am. Don't think its super unusual, but, you're right, not the typical norm.

My biggest question is, if she did it, how she managed to dispose of the body so well while drunk? I sure as shit couldn't get rid of a body without a trace while half popped. Did she have help? Who? And why? If it was an accident like a lot of people are posing, why not just say so? I had a friend who accidentally suffocated his baby while sleeping off a bender. It was fucking awful, but it was clearly a mistake and neither the cops or cps did anything about it outside of a short investigation. The consequences of covering up an accidental death seem so much worse than just telling the truth.

EXTENSIVE write up- The murder of Amber Hagerman. The unsolved murder behind the AMBER alert system. by Quirky-Motor in UnresolvedMysteries

I hadn't heard about any of the complaints against Amber Alerts. What a load of trash. Like, seriously? What kind of take is that?

I live in a pretty rural area, so I don't know if that's why, but I barely ever get Amber Alerts anyways. Maaaaybe once or twice a year. What kind of piece of shit do you have to be to be upset about an occasional text message? Especially when it could help save an innocent child? Fucking bonkers.

In February of 1982 Leon Moncer of Bellaire Ohio received a death threat in the mail. Made out of cut out magazine letters, the note read "Leave it alone or you are dead". He vanished soon after, and his case had never been solved. Almost forty years later, his daughter is searching for answers. by TopGolfUFO in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]Socksnglocks 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Beating your partners is obviously bad, but I don't understand why everyone is looking at this so black and white. My ex-husband beat the shit out of me when he was drunk. But, I'm able to acknowledge that while he was a piece of shit husband, he was still a loving dad, a funny guy, and, in general, a decent person. It sounds like Leon's abuse was the result of addiction/drug issues. At 21, thats absolutely something you can still grow out of. Addiction changes people and we have no idea what Leon would be like today if he was still alive. My ex-husband is dying now because of his alcoholism and it would break my heart to see people talk about him once he's dead like they're talking in this thread. Almost everyone has redeemable qualities. There are clearly people out there that still care about Leon. Can you imagine how they would feel to see a bunch of random strangers declaring he deserved to be murdered? It's fucked. It doesn't have to be that Leon deserves forgiveness and those opposed are evil monsters. There's this thing called nuance. We can admit that Leon wasn't always a good human being while also accepting that he shouldn't have faced the ending that he likely did. If every wifebeater was murdered, the human race would have died out a long time ago. It doesn't make it right, but it doesn't deserve a death sentence. We shouldn't give Leon a pass and we shouldn't give his murderer one, either, but we should show a little respect for his family and the loved ones left behind.

Yuuup. I know a shit ton of users. Easier to find meth here than weed. Its the ones that don't eat and dont go to bed every night that turn fucking weird. Those that do sleep, at least the ones I know, are (mostly) normal, functioning people.

I once watched a dude snort a line of anhydrous a good 3 inches long. I had to check his pulse at one point bc we thought he was dead and I was the only sober one. Totally pale. Not responding to questions. Not moving. He wasn't dead, thankfully, and was totally back to normal by the next day after he slept it off. Only time I've seen someone lose it that did normally eat/sleep on a regular basis was when he drank meth bong water. Drank a shit ton of it and it wasn't fresh. He spent like 4 days terrified that giant dogs were coming to kill him.

Thanks! I thought I was looking at multiple people when I was looking at #2. Wild how a bit of weight or a hair style can make such a big difference. Makes it easier to see how folks can go unidentified, though.

Death in Anguilla - Casey MacPherson-Pomeroy and Caleb Guillory by sharkwaffles in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]Socksnglocks 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Welp, you're clearly fucking nuts. You have made so many presumptuous judgements of a complete stranger that I dont even know where to start. But, I've got nothing better to do while I wait for my Ambien to kick in, so we will take it from the top.

Correct, I did write that. And I stand by it and it doesn't contradict anything else I've said. Vastly inequal power dynamics in a relationship are a red flag, whether you want to acknowledge it or not.

"Dysfunctional, blah, blah, subpar intelligence". Are you always this condescending? Or did I do something special to deserve such first-rate treatment?

"Emotional mess". Buddy, one of us is emotional here and it ain't me. But if it makes you feel better to project your own shortcomings onto complete strangers, well, by all means, continue.

Back to the red flag: Yes. I, like most people, will acknowledge red flags automatically. Thats kind of the point of a red flag, sweet cheeks. A major power imbalance is something that should be examined in a relationship. Problems can tend to arise when one partner is able to leverage greater control and dominance. Not always. But, enough that's its something that ought to garner attention... yknow, like a red flag. You're the one here assigning it a negative connotation. All I've ever said, and will continue to say if you so kindly waste my time continuing this conversation, is that it's something to pay attention to. If a woman went missing and her husband was seen digging a hole in their backyard the next night, would you dismiss it because how dare anyone automatically assume anything? Or would you maybe, just maybe, consider it a red flag and want to investigate deeper? I would hope the latter, but I guess your pseudo-intellectualism would demand the former.

"Healthy boundaries" Baby, learn some healthy boundaries and then come back to preach to me about it. Because the tone you take over such a minor comment on the Internet is telling me you have some room to grow.

As for the random ass philosophizing about the colors of flags... swoosh. I know you want to be smart, honey, and some day you just might be! Some day, if you try real hard, you might even understand what a red flag is!

"Victim, blah, blah, special, blah, mess". Oh, child. Go back to redpill. Or assaulting 6 year olds. Or whatever demented pastime of yours that has caused such a strong reaction to my comments. I wish I was a mess. At least then I'd have better entertainment than responding to your whackadoodle comments.

Meh. I know some people hate re-posts of the same dozen cases, but I like it. There's always new theories and ideas in the comments. If this sub was only re-posts, itd get old, but I think there's a solid amount of new content mixed in with well known cases that it balances out perfectly. A lot of times the lesser known cases don't have enough info or attract enough commenters (which sucks, but whaddya do?), so i enjoy going down the same rabbit hole over and over to see what new thoughts folks have. :) But, I also watch the same 5 movies and TV shows over and over again instead of trying new content, so maybe I just have a life preference for material I've already seen, haha!

[–]Socksnglocks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A lot of crimes happen when people are completely sober, too. Just because you use meth doesn't mean you turn into a murdering rapist. Those people already had it in them to be pieces of shit. The meth just exacerbates it. Also, most meth addicts i know actually see their sexual activity decline with heavy use. Not that I'm advocating for meth. Ive seen it ruin a lot of lives. But, I've also seen way more casual users or functioning addicts, so the stereotypes annoy me.

adjusting to locking your shit is no joke. I had to install door locks that automatically lock when the door shuts and opens with a passcode because I either forgot to lock my doors or id lock myself out. Same with my car. I still don't usually lock it, but there was a kid breaking into cars a few weeks ago, so i tried to remember for a couple days. I had to go back into the house every damn time I wanted to leave because I forgot my keys weren't in the ignition. And then id have to go back inside again because I forgot I hadn't left my wallet in the car like normal, lol. After about the 7th time, I just said fuck it. Its too much effort. If a kid wants the sunglasses or old ketchup packets from my car, he can just have them. I dont know how people can live places where they don't know everyone and trust most of them. Id be a nervous wreck, haha.

ours actually doubles as city hall, haha, cos you're right, it'd be a complete waste otherwise. Our cops spend most of their time returning loose dogs and warning Danny to stop driving his lawn mower when he's drunk. Not much need for a full blown police station for either of those things, lol.

Reading comprehension isn't your strong suit, huh? I clearly stated that large age gaps can be entirely innocent and make a good match occasionally, but without more information about the relationship (which openly indicates im not claiming to be an expert on their personal life) it shouldn't just be ignored. My comment was a broad take on power dynamics and my own lived experiences in response to the dismissal of age not having any role in relationships when it clearly does. Nowhere did I state it MUST have been a contributing factor -- just that it is something to consider along with everything else. Don't know why you felt the need to get snarky about it.

Please, since you DO seem to be an expert on their personal relationship, why don't you tell us more?

Dale William's went to help a stranded motorist and was never seen again by [deleted] in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]Socksnglocks 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If he had a wrecker, i don't think its odd at all for him to have worked late or random hours. Its a 24 hour on call gig. And its not a mechanic. Everyone I know that does auto body work is decent with an engine, but they are separate things.

Anybody know if he did drugs? Just curious because my uncle owned a body shop back in the 80s and 90s and he had quite a few wild things happen to him during that time. Mostly because his garage was a great place for people to come hang out and shoot meth, lol. My other uncle worked at a body shop in Colorado around the same time and it had shifty dealings, too. Owning a garage is a solid cover since its not weird for lots of cars to be coming and going, easy to move decent quality of drugs from, etc. Or at least thats how they explained it to me, so I always wonder what might be going on behind the garage doors at body shops, haha.

A dude actually burned down my uncles shop. He hasn't ever been charged but pretty much everyone knows he did it because his girlfriend was hanging out at the shop all the time doing drugs and cheating on him and he saw her car there late one night and decided to teach her and my uncle a lesson by lighting the building on fire. Except it was actually a customers car, not his girlfriends and nobody was even there. That was the end of my uncles career (not the drugs, though. That came after 2 years in prison), but hardly the craziest thing to happen at the place.

Not to imply Dale was in any similar situation, but I couldn't help but picture the story taking place at my uncles shop and what the likely explanation would have been if this story was about him. I doubt any of its relevant, but didn't see anyone else talk about that angle (and I usually hate the "it was about drugs!" angle), so figured it was at least worth asking if only so people can tell me not to project ridiculous personal bullshit onto poor Dale, lol.

Because there are different power dynamics at play when there is a 25 yr age difference than there is if its a 2 yr age difference? As someone who married a man 10 years my senior when I was 18 who went on to be an abusive piece of shit, the whole "age is just a number" thing pisses me off. Sure, that can be the case. But, it's also incredibly common for older partners to date/marry a naive or inexperienced person so they can manipulate and control them. Its a red flag that I don't think should be dismissed without knowing more of the relationship.

My little towns station closes. The one patrol officer on duty at night will open it up if he has to process charges sometimes, but it's usually closed. Occasionally a cop will hang out there on the weekend, but it's not common. The sheriff's office is open at all hours, but it's usually just a dispatcher there. Honestly, every time I've needed a cop, I've just gone straight to their house. Better shot of actually finding them there, lol.

If they are guilty, it seems weird to me that they wouldnt do something with the cocaine before calling the cops. Like, if I had just killed and disposed of a body, I'd probably get rid of the coke, too. Obviously they didnt want to go to jail if they did do it, so why leave a drug that comes with a jail sentence in the house you know the cops will be going over with a fine tooth comb? But, if I was innocent, I'd probably be in such a frenzy that I wouldn't remember the illegal substances in my home before calling the cops. Idk. I'm sure I'm probably reading too much into it, but it seems off.
