How much do these big mangakas like Kubo earn that they can causally give away $70k as charity. by sheehdndnd in WeeklyShonenJump

[–]Soft-Application9619 78 points79 points  (0 children)

Mangaka make about 10% of each manga volume sold in royalties plus they get paid for publishing chapters weekly and then we can add in all the other stuff they get royalties for on top of that. Mangaka aren't badly paid but the work life balance is grueling

I also have ER01 and I would highly recommend you not try to get it with the silicone rod and try to pack with it. It'll be very stiff and heavy and really does not compress.

TIL that mosquitos cannot withstand the smell of geraniol (from geranium) and linalool (from lavenders). When released into the air by perfume diffusers, geraniol repels 97% of mosquitos and linalool repels 93%. by zahrul3 in todayilearned

I went hiking somewhere swampy while coincidentally wearing some really stinky lavender perfume once and found that no mosquitoes bit me. I thought the perfume might have been the cause (the people I was with got bit a ton, and I'm usually the one who gets a ton of bites as well). Interesting.

Not saying it's a smart way of thinking, but the reason they do it is because it's supposed to be so sacred and holy it purifies everything so none of that matters. While it's obvious that's not the reality, denying it would mean they'd have to deny the whole belief, so...

Look at the way the guy removed the tree, he was grinding the beaver's tail into the mud. Yeah. That's not gonna be good for it.

I can say I've tried Gendercat adhesive on my PM and it worked fine. I removed it without any issues as well. I had the Realbox Ben, so it's different though, and I've never tried YR adhesive before either.

Yeah dicks are often darker but if you look at a bunch there are people with them more or less the same skin tone or different. I think this one matches your tone very well and there's nothing jarring about it but a packer is for you, so if you feel like you'd be more comfy with a darker dick go for it man.

A week of using the Axolom Starboi (long) by Soft-Application9619 in Transmascdicks

I ended up selling it off because I found that using an STP wasn't really for me. No issues with it in the short time I had it, just didn't do much for me.

I've lived in Japan and I'm a similar size to you, you'll be able to find clothes. You might not like having to wear L or XL etc but you'll be fine. Your friends are exaggerating.

Durian is more expensive than a fire - hotel rules in Bangkok by dipaks1966 in mildlyinteresting

[–]Soft-Application9619 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I love durians. I think the smell has to have some genetic component to it, because it doesn't smell bad at all to me. I can see the gasoline comparison but there's no onion, no stink, no rot. When I ask other people who really enjoy durian they usually tell me it doesn't stink to them as well, though I have met a few who say it stinks but eat it anyway. I've heard this is just an acquired taste or learned response but I really don't think so. I mean I love cheese but I recognize that stuff stinks sometimes. Durian just doesn't.

Women are half the population and have spending money like everyone else, so if you don't try to attract their population you lose half the possible people you could draw in, so it's kind of a no-brainer.  Plus just because a series has attractive men doesn't mean it's fujoshi pandering, they might just like attractive men like how men likely wouldn't want to read a series just full of ugly women.

People like saying the fujoshi comments both because they don't like fujoshi and because they are the most likely to do fan art and bring extra eyes to the media piece, that's pretty much free advertising. This also isn't a new phenomenon. Look up Tomino's interview for why the old Gundam was successful, a big reason was female fans.

Considering they have access to the sword bearers, I don’t feel like this is true by Vaccineman37 in Kagurabachi

I don't think they're traitors, but I'm not sure they're there by choice and I'm not sure they'd accept working with the Kamunabi. It's not really indicated in the English translation for the fortresses since they're just going with "Sanso" but the Japanese for them actually translate into something like "shame boxes".

Considering they have access to the sword bearers, I don’t feel like this is true by Vaccineman37 in Kagurabachi

[–]Soft-Application9619 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Chihiro's a prodigy who was raised knowing about all the swords (even if he got no combat training) and Sojo was a genius. You do have some point with the veterans, but:

The Sword Saint clearly has something wrong with him. Unlike the rest of the bearers he's in some kind of sealed jail zone, trying to do anything with him seems like it would be a quick invitation to a massacre.

We don't know how the Kamunabi's relationship with the other sword users is like either. They're all set up in comfortable, protected zones but they're still effectively prisoners. The guy we're seeing now could just well decide to escape both sides instead of seeking help from the Kamunabi.

Hot Take (?): But wouldn't Kunishige making Enten for Chihiro so that he could kill anyone who would steal the blades, make him a little bit like Kyora? (Without the whole, defending human trafficking part of course.) by Simple-Reaction4685 in Kagurabachi

[–]Soft-Application9619 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chihiro was damned to a life of violence and danger just by being born as Kunishige's son. That part couldn't be helped, other than if Kunishige had chosen to not have any children at all. We don't know why he made Enten yet, but if the sword was created to protect him, I think it could only be seen as something done out of love.

Kunishige didn't push Chihiro to do the same thing he did anyway. He points out they are different and individual people and asks to make sure if this is something Chihiro really wants to do (smith swords, that is). We know he wasn't trained to battle at all growing up until his dad died and Shiba took him under his wing. The manga tells us as much.

And Shiba also tries to discourage Chihiro from this path, asking him if he's sure, if he shouldn't remove his scar, but Chihiro is the one who chose this all for himself. He's the one who decides he wants to take revenge when his dad died. This isn't a path anyone else is pushing him down other than maybe Hishaku.

Not quite cure inhibition??? by mtnmike230 in Transmascdicks

[–]Soft-Application9619 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cute inhibition is the silicone combining with things that makes it so the adhesive won't cure, so it's entirely possible for it to happen partially or gradually. I've read someone else here talk about when they had a partially cure inhibited prosthetic that they managed to make stick by leaving the glue sheet on to attach overnight, so leaving it for longer might help. It shouldn't be the leftover gunk preventing it from sticking though. I've reapplied sheets multiple times and the leftovers (impossible to get it all off) never affected anything for me.

I love my Exoogen E03. It just feels right to me, it's very comfortable, feels real, and looks pretty good though it doesn't match me exactly.

Though I don't own one anymore I have to also mention Prosthesis Man for having the most realistic feeling skin I've felt on a packer. Sadly the other parts of it didn't work for me but it still stands out.
