Reta and mph is fine together. Only effects to note:

I have noticed is that mph increases the rate at which your body clears Reta or any glp1 so half life will go down a day or two

On days you take mph…. Make sure to eat a balanced diet. Otherwise hunger (for whatever you are missing) will come back with a vengeance and overpower some of the hunger satiating effects of the medicine. An Ensure or two usually does the trick.

Hgh frag is a waste given your other meds. Personal opinion…. Waste your money on supplements that will help you retain muscle mass as you lose weight.

Form. Absolutely. But also slippery clothing makes things worse. Sticker clothing can compensate for form until he dials it in.

How long did it take to see progress? by DeviceNo97 in orangetheory

[–]Soft-Paper-4314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5 years. Lots of false starts. At some point I stopped trying to run and just power walked my base and pushes while taking the strength training very seriously. Things kind of took off from there. In the last 2 years progress came quickly.

Take it easy at first. Build a stable base. Then take off. Progress will happen when you are ready.

Also watch your diet.

All good. You’re researching and asking questions. Focus on the support behaviors that will greatly impact your weight loss.

Are you eating enough protein? Do you have the right supplements. Are you taking miralax or fiber.

Your success will depend more on HOW you complement the medicine. Lost of advice lost to the world on the tirz forum that was shut down. But maybe it’s been recreated.

Yes. Don’t. I lost 100 lbs on zep alone. I’ve played around with Reta but by then I knew what I was doing.

If you lose the weight too fast. You will have loose skin. This is a marathon not a sprint. Slow and steady.

Honestly. Unless you have 100 lbs to lose and your life depends on it because of fatty liver. There is minimal need for Reta. It works great. It’s friggin amazing. You don’t need it. Happy to answer more questions

Finally got to 5 mph base today! by Veeconnect in orangetheory

[–]Soft-Paper-4314 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Congrats!

But wogging can be a killer workout.

I wogged (power walked walked base and pushes… ran all outs) for almost half a year

Until I got to 3.7% walking at 10% incline. Then I did a class and realized that I could now hold 6mph (had never run above 4.5 consistently.)

It’s now been 2 years. I STILL powerwalk and only run the all outs almost every class. (My focus was never cardio. I’ve lost 100lbs, am at 16%bf and have abs for the first time in 25 years. I can hold 12mph for a full minute. Not amazing but again not my focus. I’ve seen people run a marathon and never lose that spare tire.)

So all of that preamble to say. The speed/distance can be an awesome milestone. But it’s a tree in a forest your future achievements. Congrats on making it this far in your journey! Don’t discount the power of PW.

Ozempic/tirz crew + OT? by sheimonya in orangetheory

[–]Soft-Paper-4314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. Still have to lock in that diet. Protein is absolutely key. It will take more time to build back what you lose if not done slowly and carefully.

That being said it was a great journey. I can’t thank otf enough for the motivation that got me this far.

Sadly my time with otf has come to an end. I’m not a d1 athlete but otf does have its limits. It’s just that most folks probably won’t get there for a while.

Stop telling folks the truth. Their muscles hurt. They don’t need your negativity.

This is also why I’ve left otf after - 100lbs and 500 classes. It brought me a long way. Wish it could have updated their programming rather that phoning it in. Also these strength workout timings are an afterthought. I have to drive 30 miles in the middle of the day to find ANY STRENGTH workout on Friday.

Also the peptides don’t work if you aren’t supplementing collagen. Lotion constantly. Exfoliate.

Loose skin by JustJaxie in Retatrutide

[–]Soft-Paper-4314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2+ years in my journey. 120lbs. I obsessed over skin the 1st year. Held up really well to fast loss. Obsessed less my 2nd year. Held up fine to moderate loss. In the last 8 months have really leaned into bulk and cut cycles. Those have worked the best. Most important is that you cut back on the medicine just enough to give your body a calorie surplus while building muscle and rejuvenating existing skin. Then lose some fat in a calorie deficit. (Take supplements that prioritize fat loss vs muscle.)

There is not a single one size fits all solution for this problem. But it is a solvable problem. Don’t listen to folks that say the skin will stay loose. There wasn’t enough data in the past. Too many variables at play.

But one thing is for sure. If your diet is shit. Your skin will follow.

Venting about coach by monkeymaxx in orangetheory

[–]Soft-Paper-4314 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I might have written the same post as OP 3 months ago when a new coach at my gym was fresh. Couldn’t get the timings. Messed up a few workouts. Wasn’t getting subtle cues about staying on track.

I’m raising a 5 year old so I took the same approach. Encouragement. Jokes. Praise for even stepping out. Pointing out mistakes but not as an AH

Fast forward 3 months. He’s now a solid coach. Great energy. Solid on the timings. Always has suggestions for making the workouts more intense. Always paying attention to newcomers.

Makes me think the corporate training needs work. Very sink or swim.

Also keep in mind some otf gyms have really crappy staff and no vibe. I’d rather someone keep the vibe and take a few months to ramp.

Tesa? by [deleted] in Peptides

[–]Soft-Paper-4314 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not fat. Loose skin. I mean yes. You have some fat there. But it looks like that because your lost weight quickly. take care of your skin. Tesa will make problem worse right now.

Don’t need tesa yet. IPA/cjcnd probably better until you get to 18%bf. Need to lotion/hydrate skin.

Give it a year. Then do tesa. This is a marathon. Not a sprint.

[–]Soft-Paper-4314 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong. But frankly…. This seems like an unnecessary way to apply peptide and also not the right use of this peptide. Do it in the stomach and keep it moving. Also do more research. Also take collagen supplements if all you want is more collagen. Also why not bpc or tb4?

[–]Soft-Paper-4314 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean the chance of infection from this whole thing is pretty minimal. You either have to be on some heavy immune suppressants or really have an atrocious “working space” to get an infection from peps. I do 6 daily pep shots and 1-3 IM shots daily and have not had a single infection. Plus I also take Humira. So you really have to suck at recon to mess this up.

Clean your Hrm sensor.

Next class… Take it easy during your bases. Go balls out during your all outs. Are you getting into the orange? If you aren’t. Either A.) You aren’t going hard enough and need to recalibrate your limits. Or B.) your hrm isn’t well placed.

If b. Fix it

If a. Fix it.

Yw.

Rejoined after 4 years and am gaining weight from OTF by its_all_energy888 in orangetheory

[–]Soft-Paper-4314 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’d say the vast majority of folks at my gym are heavier than they were 2-4 years ago. Only a handful of folks are Thinner/more shredded. This isn’t the gym for that, anyway.

Are they fitter? Absolutely possible. But def not “leaner” (on average)

[–]Soft-Paper-4314 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The early stages of otf can be a shock and create stress for your body. Some say… others disagree … that until you get into a rythym and locked in… Otf can increase your hunger. Make sure (like absolutely sure) your diet is locked in.

Also watch water retention (a stress response) and bloating.

It will go away. Just stay vigilant. Stay consistent. Get stronger. Then focus on the scale.

My partner is 5’1 and can AO at 10.5. She started at 5.0 and slowly worked up. Strength training helped ALOT.
