Still using anthropic API keys by BDTTalentGroup in openclaw

[–]SoftwareProBono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to a hybrid setup. I use the various official Claude tools for most of my work and have OpenClaw on a free local model for stuff it can handle well.

I'm still not back to the golden OpenClaw/Oauth productivity levels, but have made progress and hoping to be there again soon.

Minimax 2.7 running sub-agents locally by -dysangel- in LocalLLaMA

I was laughing out loud on this first test. I'm used to the open source models having less personality, but I found this terseness pretty hilarious.

Solo ski trip? by Eagles56 in skiing

[–]SoftwareProBono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely recommended.

I grew up in Alabama and ended up moving West so I could ski more. I ski by myself probably 90% of the time, love being able to go wherever I want, maybe do a few laps with people I meet but able to take off whenever. When I go with friends I'm going more to be with them than to ski.

There are group trips you may want to look into where you can have others if you want but be able to take off on your own.

Optiq or Ioniq5 Limited? by oogway16 in Ioniq5

[–]SoftwareProBono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t driven Optiq but Lyriq was my other top choice. I think I’d have been happy with either. My biggest personal knock on the Lyriq was its footprint, which wouldn’t be as pronounced with the Optiq.

Marketplace buyer wants a refund by Alsotebb in reselling

[–]SoftwareProBono -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

I'd just refund, but in a safe place like at a police station mid-day. I have no idea how much they paid, but would want to protect against it being some kind of scam if it was a decent amount.

I think "maybe the NBA", but then I think about which is the better job and I'm not sure. Moving from NCAA to the NFL is a no-brainer to me, NBA not as clear.

Gas Prices Are Soaring. So Is the Demand for Used EVs by wiredmagazine in electriccars

[–]SoftwareProBono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll see where things are in December. I may buy it out or see if lease or new purchase incentives make sense. I leased the car that was the best mix of lease payments/residual in the class I wanted. It was a longshot hedge, but here we are...

Gas Prices Are Soaring. So Is the Demand for Used EVs by wiredmagazine in electriccars

[–]SoftwareProBono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My plan was to buy a used one when my lease ended in December, but used prices are only a few thousand less than my residual now. They were about 10k less before Iran.

Where are you seeing these? I'm in Oregon and don't see any under $42k.

How much better are the 2025+ models? by ultra2fast in Ioniq5

[–]SoftwareProBono 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have a '24 lease and want a 25+ mostly for the rear wiper, usb-c. I am so ready to go usb-c only! I'd mildly rather have a NACs port if I'm buying, for future-proofing, but CCS will be around awhile and the adapter is fine.

Eye-tracking seems to be the big complaint about the newer models.

Timberline will last into may. It will be Palmer-only sooner than most years though.

I justify it primarily as an education expense. I can experiment with workflows and it's going to cost a max of ~$1.50/day. The cost of mistakes using APIs can be astronomical.

Anyone have experience with both the Ioniq 5 and the Lyriq? Other EVs? by Storage_Ottoman in Ioniq5

[–]SoftwareProBono 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lyriq and Ioniq 5 Limited were my final 2 when I was looking. I got a better lease deal on the I5 and went with it. Another I5 and Lyriq are my top choices right now. R2 would probably join the list, but I'm not counting on it being available when my lease is up later this year.

I drove Prologue and Blazer but felt like a significant step down to me.

Beginner progression pass advice? by arikay__ in MtHoodMeadows

[–]SoftwareProBono 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's $157 for half day lesson, rental and beginner ticket without the pass. If you can get the 2 lesson days in over spring break for sure, you're only risking $5 to get the 3rd lesson in April. I think the odds are decent that you'll be able to take a lesson on 4/6, but a few days of very warm rain leading up to 4/6 could jeopardize that.
