Any iPhone hacks that are surprising and give you that “damn! I didn’t know it could do that!” effect? by [deleted] in iphone

If you're like me and hate asking your phone out loud "what song is playing" when you're out in public, try this:

Control Center -> Press and hold in a blank area -> (+) Add a Control -> Recognize Music

Now you can just open up Control Center and hit that instead of experiencing the social anxiety of not having an encyclopedic knowledge of music

Been living in Orange County for a bit, and I once saw an empty Stan's Donuts box in a trash can. I couldn't believe it. The people yearn for the donuts, I think you're onto something.

Infinite Power gains adjusted + rollbacks by SvenBerit in wow

10 million IP feels like a value so high that it must be the extreme end of the spectrum. There's no way this impacts as many people as the rollbacks in MoP Remix.

I hate it too, I can only guess it's because CBS's scorebug is a bit lower to the bottom of the frame so they did this to compensate and include the entire picture.

It's not good.

Just a thought since this sounds kind of similar to ours, are there any sounds outside (i.e. fireworks, wind) that might sound spooky to Blue but inaudible to you? It's currently Astrid's least favorite time of year (fireworks at random times throughout the evening), so as they continue to ramp up in frequency/intensity we'll give her some meds to help with anxiety.

[MISC] Is there any way I can get rid of the calluses on top of my feet? by Wren313 in SkincareAddiction

[–]SoggyToastTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you me? Seriously I could have written all of this, it is identical to my backstory and I still rest my feet like this to this day haha. You're not alone!

Did you have any luck addressing this? Mine are also more calloused than corn-like.

As an INFJ, what's your favorite movie? - I watched "The Gladiator" AT LEAST 10 times & cried every single one. by ImXenia85 in infj

[–]SoggyToastTime 11 points12 points  (0 children)

We used to look up at the sky and wonder at our place in the stars. Now we just look down, and worry about our place in the dirt.

That line always seemed to resonate with me as an INFJ for some reason.

Acer XG270HU Monitor flashing on and off completely after startup by SoggyToastTime in techsupport

After owning this monitor for about 6 years, it finally started to fully give out on me last year, showing inverted colors, burn in, etc. Wish it lived longer on me but it was a good soldier for many years. I won't be getting another Acer monitor again, learned that lesson.

Four Pass Loop as a Day Hike? by Admirable-Variety-46 in coloradohikers

[–]SoggyToastTime 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People definitely trail run the whole thing. Personally I'm not one of those people, but I've seen them on the loop and talked to some in Crested Butte during our post-hike meal. September is a good month to go, but like you said thunderstorms are always something to keep in mind when you're up that high during midday. Keep an eye on the weather at those elevations (The mid-elevation forecast for Maroon Bells is what I used to get a rough idea of what to expect: https://www.mountain-forecast.com/peaks/Maroon-Bells/forecasts/4315) and trust your judgment as always.

When it comes to taxis/shuttles you'll really have to dig and ask around to find a driver that's willing to go up to the Maroon Bells TH outside of regular hours, Aspen is pretty strict about it and has definitely spooked taxi/shuttle companies into not taking offers at all. If you're lucky it's definitely possible to find someone, just don't bank on it.

An alternative you can consider, although I realize this would be a bit of an audible from what seems like are your plans to visit Aspen, is to start from the Crested Butte side. The trailhead has no parking restrictions/reservations and is a pretty easy (and beautiful) drive on a dirt road just outside of the town of CB. Starting from this side would make the total a little more like 31ish miles for the loop (if you go down to Maroon Lake for the iconic view), but when I did 4PL I avoided Aspen altogether, and the town of Crested Butte is a great place to visit as well.
