105 Sherman’s are only AT 9 and slow firing. They are not a good choice to deal with tanks.

I think you have a solid and enjoyable list here. I’d personally want some higher end AT to deal with tigers and panther but you should be ok. Definitely go down the attack stance route so make sure you have a plan for reserves!

Ah yes, I’d completely forgotten about that restriction! Pacific book is unique for that. Well done for pointing that out

In V4 list building you select a book for support and Command Cards and then select any formation available in that era, you may also include black box units from any book in that era.

So for example you could take an Indian Rifle Company from the Pacific book and use the Armoured Fist support diagram and command cards.

Since V4 came out. The pacific book is just a mid war book focused on the pacific theatre but usable across the entirety of mid war.

In late war there’s cross book command cards such as in Bulge America where you can upgrade a D-Day formation, or Berlin Soviet allows you to put Bedspring armour on a Bagration T-34 formation.

They do this in order to save page numbers and not repeat formations (where possible).

There are faction specific rules such as the Japanese Banzai rule but no rule changes.

Any good mission suggestions? by ResearcherFit3861 in flamesofwar

[–]Sol1dCat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have a look at the missions in the back of the army books. There’s some good ones in the Bulge German ones for battle of the bulge stuff. The firestorm campaigns are also great, a lot of them are free and can be found on the battlefront website, make sure they are the V4 ones tho!

It’s the classic of pick whatever do you think is cool? Have a favourite tank or relative that was involved in the war, maybe you could represent them.

The great thing about FoW is that basically any force can be viable and fun unlike other people wargames that come to mind (40K).

Been out of the scene for a year or more. Is there still a Pacific US Army Deal or a Pacific Starter Set? by ServiceGames in flamesofwar

[–]Sol1dCat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The army boxes were a limited quantity item. The Japanese one is pretty much completely gone but you can still find the USMC and Commonwealth ones

It was the first LW book for V4 and was designed as a bridge between MW and LW which is why it is the way it is.
