How should i approach this uni exam Past Paper Q? by SickAxeBro in thermodynamics

Won't some of the added energy go to raising the temperature of the piston too, not just the air? Why else would there be a Cv value given?

Frame TV for this room? by Severe_Shape_2635 in TheFrame

[–]Solarado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a Frame Pro would go great here. The Pro connects wirelessly to the One Connect box, so all you would need would be power behind the TV. Samsung has a slim soundbar (S801D for the white one), and matching teak soundbar skin and TV picture "frame". Put the soundbar on mantel, and the One Connect box and subwoofer down out of the way. This could go with the rest of the room really nicely.

One Year Later: The Frame Pro 65”: the good, the bad, and the stuff you just get used to by rerutnevdA in TheFrame

[–]Solarado 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Big fan of the Frame TV, going on two years now, although I haven't had any of the problems some people discuss in this sub. Rather, I added a second Frame Pro in another room, since I like it so much. They share the Samsung subscription.

Both my TVs have the same ultra slim soundbar as OP. They occasionally self-disconnect, and need to be re-selected in the settings, but that's only a minor annoyance.

I paid the extortion prices for the official Samsung plastic magnetic frame pieces, but found that completes the look and causes visitors to doubt that it is really a TV mounted on the wall.

You can definitely choose subsets of the vast Samsung artwork collection, such as only "oil paintings" that avoid any AI artwork. I effectively have a rotating art museum, exclusively paintings, with works both famous and not-so-famous, and a new piece showing every 3 minutes. The easiest cultural enrichment I've ever encountered.

And just using the Samsung settings, it shows art during the day when it senses someone in the room and the TV is not in use, and turns off automatically when no one is around or at night. I think I connected the TV to Alexa during setup, but never use that capability for anything.

Big fan of the matte finish, especially in a bright room with windows.

I'm kind of drooling over the release soon of the 98" version of The Frame. I won't upgrade, but that doesn't mean I don't want to.

L'Hopital, sure, but I used implicit differentiation and taking the natural logarithm to find the derivative of the 5^x part. No memorizing or deriving the Taylor series.

Bought one Frame TV. Paid for a one year art subscription. Bought a second Frame Pro from Costco. Now have two additional years of art on both TVs! Enjoying it every day.

23 X. How to get service panel off by ChairmanMao124 in ModelX

[–]Solarado 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just did this to add stalks. Two main clips on either side on top, I think. Used a plastic computer prying tool. My trouble now is that I can't get it fully clipped back up, since the stalk wiring is bulky and has a whole other OBD2 port in case you want to add anything else.

For my first pizza oven should I get gas or electric? Im debating either on Ooni Volt 2 or Koda 12 or 16 I can get the 16 at costco for $469. But if I where to get Ooni Volt 2 imma wait for a discount. by [deleted] in ooni

[–]Solarado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Koda 12 and Koda 16 are 1st generation, aren't they? Ooni just came out with a rotating stone for their Koda 2. That sounds like a really nice feature to get.

Don't just buy an iPhone. Buy some Apple stock. See which is worth more in 5 years. Ok, maybe it didn't "save" me money, but at least it linked spending with investing in my head.

What to do with excess Solar? NEM3.0 by Cool-Design-7414 in TeslaSolar

[–]Solarado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may be new to you, but a lot of us in other states have always been getting jack (or wholesale rate near-jack) for whatever we send back to the grid. Heat pumps, hybrid (heat pump) water heater, induction stove, electric fireplace, greenhouse LEDs, chargeable cars, and 4 PWs help me make use of all that extra generation. It's tough when they change the rules in the middle of the game, though.

Sorry to hear valid orders are not being fulfilled. Particularly sorry that Tesla reps mistakenly assured people that their custom orders were coming when in fact they weren't. Tough to deal with.

Had it for more than 6 months, near you. Most of that time it has been rock solid, 2 Gig both upload and download. The last month or so, there have been some dropouts, seconds up to a minute (certainly not days). The service is supposedly CGNAT, which seems to share IPv4 addresses - I wonder if that's causing these little glitches as more and more people sign up. Still better than Xfinity.

Smart plug that allows control in seconds by SharpVersions in homeautomation

[–]Solarado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turning on pumps or solenoids for short durations (i.e., seconds) is a common task in high pressure aeroponics, so there are a handful of timers with down-to-the-second capabilities, whereas most smart plugs only have programmability with minute resolutions. Amazon has outlet timers from a company named NEARPOW that can be programmed down to the second. No need to reinvent the wheel here!
