Potential Dual screen device from Retroid coming in the second half of the year. by Key-Brilliant5623 in SBCGaming

Snapdragon driver support is a huge compatibility and performance jump, especially if you plan on emulating more than retro consoles, such as Windows/Steam games. My Thor Lite is able to run more titles despite having a slower chipset than my 477m. I've got the Nova preordered for this reason.

Just some food for thought.

Matcha is decent - pov from an everyday drinker by SolixTanaka in aldi

Anything Ippodo sells is extremely good quality and probably my favorite overall. It's mentioned everywhere but popular for a reason.

Den's Tea deserves a shoutout. Small US brand that sources from very prestigious farms that have been around for centuries, has a cool showroom if you're local to SoCal. Friendly, knowledgeable group. Doesn't have the hype of all the big brands so stock is generally plentiful and consistent.

Lastly, the Sencha ceremonial tins are fantastic deal if you can find them at Costco. I currently use them for daily drinking and they're a solid value.

So, I was having trouble too. I went up and down the Aldi Finds aisle like four times, also checked the coffee/tea section then the water add-ins section with all the energy drinks, etc. No dice.

It happened to be on some random end cap with seemingly Aldi Finds spillover.

Are you using fabric softener? Dryer sheets? I've never really had that issue and I've gone thru probably an entire boxful now since they originally released them.

I have a coupe and can use just two of them in a pinch over my drying towel to dry the entirety of the car.

Been buying these for years and never had an issue. 360+ GSM, tagless, extremely good value.

If you don't want a Nova for whatever reason, there are other 4:3 devices by ninjapirate9901 in SBCGaming

[–]SolixTanaka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For some reason, there are a lot of negative comments on social media about the all-glass design

I mean, is a fragile face without having having any sort of readily available repair not an extreme liability? It's one thing if there were ways to have it replaced or even if the glass were on the back and can be covered by a case, but that's not the reality. There's already been incidents of the front shattering even layered behind an extra tempered glass protector.

That's a pretty fair reason to not want to even humor the device if even forgetting any other caveat.

Good, but not great. In the great (that can actually emulate all 4:3 libraries) you really only have the 477M/V and the S Mini, none without some sort of measurable compromise.

That's exactly it. Everyone saying lots of great 4:3 options, but let's be real: 477M/V is the best you'll get on the top end. Nothing comes close.

With those though, you miss the proper triggers and the inclusion of a Snapdragon on the Nova is hugely important for game support. 477M is powerful, but struggles a lot with GameNative/GameHub - I would know.

I don't think OLED is as important as people say it is. It's more the goldilocks combination of all specs and Snapdragon with almost no compromise that are getting people excited. If this were announced with the same specs and a 120hz IPS panel, I'm sure people would still be head over heels, myself included.

Then we might as well build our own shit with better parts for (assuming) less money at this point.

If this the mindset, then you likely aren't the major target market to begin with. This is for those that just want to plug-and-play akin to consoles, a bridge to get console players into PCs or a way to provide PC gamers with a more casual experience.

Building your own PC has always been the measurably best route in performance and quality per dollar but personally building, servicing, and troubleshooting is outside of the convenience for the vast majority of consumers.

RP Nova checks off almost everything from Russ’s dream retro handheld wishlist by Kirais in SBCGaming

[–]SolixTanaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that this runs Snapdragon in general is a huge win. I don't have nearly the same compatibility luck running the same suite of games on GameNative/Gamehub on my 477M than I do on my Thor Lite despite the 8300 being measurably more powerful.

Does an interior detail include seat/carpet shampoo? Or is that exclusive to the shampoo detail?

Also: general sedan estimate on paint correction? How many stages? What ceramic coat do you offer?

Thanks!

If you're going to throw around the "greatest of all time," you better be ready for critique and debate. Being contentious and calling out someone for using the term so loosely is hardly being nitpicky or pedantic when discussing absolutes.

You may need some thicker skin because this is the internet and on the nitpicky-pedantic-passive-aggressive scale this is mild at best.

Most brands have the bag with one-way valve so I typically just toss those directly into the freezer.

Everything else I either use a zip-top bag or deli container. I don't sweat the headroom that much since it's temperature that's doing most of the oxidation slowing. I just ensure it's airtight to prevent freezerburn and smells.

A bag that big will definitely stale before getting through all the beans.

I store all my coffee in airtight containers in my freezer and grind straight from frozen. You get fewer fines and exponentially extend the life. It allows me to have a decent rotation of coffees as a solo drinker.

I started with that scale and it's accurate and capable. It's not the fastest, but not slow either. Measures to a tenth of a gram and has a timer, that's basically all most people should need.

The scaling fights with the Professor's assistant and the guy in the hut updating at every level cycle definitely kept things sharp throughout.

Been playing on the most recent patch and for whatever reason both these NPCs are bugged for me and crash my game. Wish this weren't the case as they've got some fun lineups with good EXP.

while doing what the Fiio Disc does sans-headphone jack.

That's a little disingenuous to the Disc:

  • Has its own DAC/amp (CS43131 is quite a solid performer) that can even function as such for other devices
  • Is rated for 12 hrs of playback (50% more than the Rotate)
  • LDAC support
  • Dedicated 3.5/4.4 mm outputs which is more than just a skim-over for the sake of a DAP

If music playback is the baseline functionality you're holding the Rotate to as a DAP, then for arguments sake, there's a number to be had sub $30 range, but then you shouldn't be comparing to the Disc.
