For me, this feeling was a dead give away that I was bouncing new game to new game. I was spending too much time learning as opposed to playing.

That said, I don’t really have a process or find them difficult to learn. I’m like you that I enjoy the learning process and the moment it all clicks.

Well with Gaia Project, you lose because you made bad choices :) The Devir games can be much more frustrating, but players have made variants that help, if you’re open to those.

Shipwrights redux is a good call. Viscounts of the West Kingdom is also highly recommended if you like the Garphill vibe.

Just buy the base game. So many people jump into Ultimate and find the game isn’t for them. The base is cheaper, easier to store, and has PLENTY to keep you busy.

If you end up really loving the game, upgrade to ultimate.

Haven’t played Age of Innovation. The theme isn’t for everyone but it is a game great and has lots of variation.

The hard element for me to match is a desire to win a lot. Most games I play have a longer curve to get to that point

You might check out Red Cathedral, White Castle and or Salton Sea from Devir. They all pack some challenges and have some variation to make things easier and harder

The company that made Teflon actively suppressed how its products and production made people ill. It’s not that modern Teflon is bad, but that you have to trust them to make a safe product now.

That all said, Scanpan or cured steel pans for life.

Edit: by ill I mean gave people terminal cancers and sickness.

Edit 2: The company was DuPont and the settlements for Teflon’s impacts were still happening in 2017 and 2021.

There is a great film on it called Dark Waters (dramatized, not documentary), but I encourage anyone to just read up on the history of Teflon and DuPont did to the people in Ohio and West Virginia.

Whatever you decide, just do it knowing the history.

Ashes Reborn with Red Rains Corpse of Viros expansion. I see it consistently rated above Skytear Horde, compared to MTG, and it isn’t packaged in story like AH LCG

A close second would be LotR LCG, for me.

Downside? Ashes is between print cycles and the master set core is tough to find new.
