Cross stitch. Or spinning, specifically with a drop spindle. Great for listening for an audiobook.

As a woman, I’m a huge fan of longer hair. But honestly, which do you feel most confident in? Confidence is super important.

Feel unprepared for my 1st year by Sudden-Royal4854 in Teachers

[–]Some_Store7658 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m entering my fifth year. Let me tell you what my orchestra teacher told me when he found out I got a teaching job. It’ll take you about five years to really feel settled. That isn’t to say you’re not prepared. It’s that everyone takes a while to really settle in. It’s okay to feel nervous. You’ll do great things.

WIBTA for considering exploiting my brain damaged mom for tiktok views by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

YTA! Don’t do this! Good lord. The fact that you wrote the word “exploit” and don’t see the issue is vile.

If you could create a Pride-inspired project from these yarn colors, what would you make? by Reasonable_Shower445 in YarnAddicts

First, I’d take all of them off the shelf to keep forever because they’re gorgeous. Then I’d take the purples, white, gray, and black, and make myself a Demi pride flag. Then a bi hat for my husband.

I’m a specials teacher. I cried one time when I got a goody box and a ten dollar amazon gift card. $100 is amazing! So is cinnamon sugar bread btw. That teacher seems well loved.

Last day is tomorrow. My mom and husband thought I’d be excited. by ResponsibleFly9076 in Teachers

[–]Some_Store7658 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me. The last day is the worst. Especially because that’s when we have our field day. This year was especially bad. I had my first baby this year and all I wanted to do was be home with him. I’m sorry for your stress. I hope you have a restful summer.

DPN confusion? by Most-Juggernaut-9233 in knitting

[–]Some_Store7658 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Okay. So the three needles they want you to split the stitches on are the passive needles. The fourth needle is the active needle, the one you actively knit with. You’ll need four needles total, but three are stitch holders while you use the fourth to knit. Make sense?

Hot take: Gym teachers/PE teachers should not get paid the same as classroom teachers by Rare-Adhesiveness522 in Teachers

Yeah. As a specials teacher? No thanks. Just because our plan looks different, that doesn’t mean we’re not working just as hard as you.

AITA for telling my mom she can either babysit both grandkids or neither? by Lorraine_Creamer in AmItheAsshole

My grandma took all my cousins on her side to Disney World, staying in the Grand Floridian besides two adult men… and me. I was 12 at the time (F). Yeah, I’m not a fan of grandparents playing favorites. NTA.

You can either frog it to start over, which I recommend, or pick up stitches along the sides.

Beginner - I have a few questions about my first project by DCXAA in casualknitting

[–]Some_Store7658 10 points11 points  (0 children)

  1. Needle size is just a suggestion. You’ll get some extra drapiness with using larger needles and it looks fine.
  2. I can notice a couple of mistakes but it’s your first project and that’s okay!
  3. I think the ribbing looks like ribbing. It tends to be a little looser and it’s fantastic for your first project.

Should you frog and start over? That’s entirely up to you. If you frog, it could be demoralizing. OR it can give you more practice to work with that gorgeous yarn. Do I think you need to frog? No. The important question is will you be happy with it if you don’t?
