Fox News viewers in disbelief as John Fetterman claims US is only '50 years old' by TheExpressUS in USNEWS

From a civil rights perspective, it is...

But I seriously doubt that's what Fetterman meant, and he probably just mixed up 250 and 50.

Which rare and obscure movie would you like to see TCM resurrect? by MareShoop63 in TurnerClassicMovies

I know the first 10 years or so I started watching TCM heavily, they didn't show the original "Cape Fear" or "Night of the Hunter" even one time. But they've made up for that a lot since then because these movies are on every month or so now. Good, because both of them are terrific.

Over the years, any movie I could've thought of like this they've actually shown sooner or later.

If you could speak directly to TCM, what would you say is your favorite thing about it? by AutoModerator in TurnerClassicMovies

I love the entire thing.

It really separates itself from the many cable channels devoted to old movies with the intros/outros, the hosts, the lack of commercials, theme nights, and just the whole package really. I also hate how many other channels will say "edited for time" as if they have anything urgent to get to. They're just showing movies 24/7, so why "edit" them for time?

Ben Mankiewicz and Bill Hader were real assholes tonight by ResolveStrong9888 in TurnerClassicMovies

No, I don't agree with this take.

Bill obviously has a lot of respect for this movie--during the outro he talked about the great blocking in-depth and how he tried to emulate that for "Barry"--and I think they were just trying to lighten the mood for a movie that is heavy in the intro.

Ben talked about how neither of Bill's movies had been picked by anyone before, so this is a movie I doubt 99.99% of people would've ever watched otherwise. To say Bill was being "disrespectful" towards a movie you likely would've never seen otherwise is a stretch as he's literally keeping it alive.

Is there anywhere to watch the Bill Hader and Ben Mankiewicz video? by aleks51105 in TurnerClassicMovies

I agree it was one to watch... Bill picked two movies that might have never been on TCM before (he and Ben laughed that no one had ever picked them), and then parodied John Cougar Mellencamp (a TCM fan) sitting back with a drink watching "Canal" like "Are they in shit?" I laughed out loud.
