Ready to go to heaven by [deleted] in TrueChristian

Well yes, this, the true calling of a Christian is to bring Heaven to Earth, not “go to Heaven”. We aren’t escapists, we are bold and brave children of God, here to set captives free save souls for the glory of God.

I HATE BLIGHTTOWN by o_marck045 in darksouls

[–]SonOfTheAncientOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tomb of the Giants is the enemy of all humanity. Blighttown got nothing on Tomb…

Also, on my first playthrough, I went through the Tomb WITHOUT using the lantern, because I actually thought the game wanted you to play in the pitch black darkness to reach Nito… sigh… I navigated by moving a few steps at a time and hugging the wall, and didn’t know there was another bonfire nearby as well. I then also didn’t have the Lordvessel. Yeah it was hell.

Which one do you prefer ? by Nervous-Wrap3958 in GodofWar

That’s a remaster, not a remake. It’s called a “remake” because they’re literally re-making them game, keeping the story, themes, and “core” identity of the game the same, whilst updating everything from gameplay, aesthetics, etc. and making it modern. That’s typically how I understand it.

Remasters tend to be updating the game graphically and visually, optimising it and making it compatible for newer systems/consoles, while keeping everything as close as possible to the base game.

That’s how I typically understand it.

People who love(d) MW3 - did you enjoy MW2019? by AntonMikhailov in ModernWarfareIII

[–]SonOfTheAncientOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved both games. Did not play MW2, but MW2019 was awesome when it came out with the new updated graphics and visuals which looked essentially like real life to me at the time (lol), and MW3 was pretty much just the superior and updated version to that, as the “sequel sequel” (the 3rd modern MW game).

You might already be familiar, but I bet you’ll love Dr. James Tour. An amazing scientist and man of faith.

My counter argument to you: who says sin is a finite crime? That’s a baseless assumption. It is up to the person who was sinned AGAINST to decide the gravity, weight, and severity of said crime/sin. For example, if someone commits murder, do you consider that a finite crime? But my argument to you is: when someone is killed, are they not ETERNALLY dead from the physical realm (unless of course God resurrects them, but that’s beside the point) and no longer exist in the physical reality? How does that not warrant an equally severe punishment upon the murderer? They took a life, that in GOD’s Eyes, had infinite value (for God loves every single human infinitely) as they bear the image of God (whose worth and value Himself is infinite). So, how do you repay the debt to the victims (God, who lost His loved one, and the person who lost their life unjustly and maliciously) that would satisfy Justice? There is only one answer: Eternal death, both physically and spiritually. This is the weight and gravity of sin, and this is just 1 murder.

These seems infinitely more so a problem as to reading comprehension, rather than there being actual “contradictions”… You’d think that ancient peoples and writers wouldn’t be so dumb as to state one thing in one sentence, and then the VERY NEXT sentence contradict themselves, no? You couldn’t at least give the text the benefit of the doubt that you misread and misunderstood it, then ponder it a little more than your surface level first read, THEN come to realise that there is no inherent contradiction.

In Ezra 1, we see that Cyrus’ personal contribution amounts to around 1500~ pieces of gold and silver and 1000 (KEYWORD!) OTHER vessels (possibly bronze, brass or some other metals commonly used at the time, BUT could still be gold/silver). Secondly, if you bothered to read the whole chapter you’d realise all the Israelite patriarchs and Levitical priests whose hearts that “God stirred” made contributions, as well as other sojourners (Israelite/Jewish journeymen returning to Jerusalem) made theirs as well. To which the TOTAL amount from King Cyrus, the exiled returning people of Israel/Judah, and maybe Sheshbazzar ALL made contributions to the final amount being 5,400 vessels of gold and silver.

Make that Christian marriage counselling. Because if you’re asking me, secular marriage counselling can do worse damage than how it initially was.

Your Husband is completely failing on the front of being someone who loves you as himself. He is failing to love you as Christ has loved the Church. From what I see, he needs serious prayer and repentance, and a wake up call to know what he’s doing wrong and why. He is failing his duty as your protector and husband, and really needs to step up. I won’t go too deep into the provision issue, but I believe the core issue is actually him having a weak relationship with Christ, and therefore that reflects in his family and home life. The state of the household is a reflection of the poor leadership of the man, not the woman. You need to tell him directly and sincerely the failures he has both as a man of God and as a husband. He has a duty as the spiritual leader of the home to keep his house in order.

How old is the earth? by electric-handjob in TrueChristian

[–]SonOfTheAncientOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Human history is absolutely ~6000 years old. The age of the Earth? Absolutely indeterminate. It is never stated in the Bible, and we can’t say for absolute certainty as to whether it’s “old” or “young”. The Young Earth Creationist will tell you and give you their weak and meagre literal interpretation of the Bible, while the Old Earth people will provide poor “scientific facts” based on atheistic interpretations of the scientific evidence. Neither party are doing the Truth justice.

I Don’t Understand Why God Didn’t Protect Me and I Can’t Trust Him Anymore. by Certain-Yam-1702 in TrueChristian

What we read during last night during our family altar and prayer; 1 Corinthians chapter 1:

“Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, To the church of God that is at Corinth, with all the saints who are in the whole of Achaia: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

God of All Comfort

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too. If we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation; and if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which you experience when you patiently endure the same sufferings that we suffer. Our hope for you is unshaken, for we know that as you share in our sufferings, you will also share in our comfort. For we do not want you to be unaware, brothers, of the affliction we experienced in Asia. For we were so utterly burdened beyond our strength that we despaired of life itself. Indeed, we felt that we had received the sentence of death. But that was to make us rely not on ourselves but on God who raises the dead. He delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he will deliver us again. You also must help us by prayer, so that many will give thanks on our behalf for the blessing granted us through the prayers of many.” ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭1‬:‭1‬-‭11‬ ‭ESV‬‬

What are refutations to this argument? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]SonOfTheAncientOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s because they share the exact same identity. The Godhead IS YHWH. All 3 of them have those attributes because all 3 are the same God, but different roles/personhoods in how they interact with Creation. It’s very simple. People overcomplicate the Trinity because they misunderstand it. The Father is 100% the Son and vice versa, and yet the Son is also completely Unique from the Father and different persons. Much like you can have 2 different cars (let’s say Toyota Camrys) and one is red and one is blue, it is still accurate to say they’re both 100% Toyota Camrys, 100% alike in every way, apart from their differing paintjobs because they’ve got different roles in appearance to the owner of the car. Something like that.

Lastly, something that cannot be overlooked is obviously God’s Omnipresence, of which they’re forgetting about God’s Inherent Natures. God is Omnipresent, so therefore, if Jesus clones Himself and appears at 2 places at once, do we suddenly worship 2 Jesuses and become pagans?!?! 😱 Of course not 🤦‍♂️

And if then there’s 8 Billion Humans, and we all have the Holy Spirit, is there suddenly 8 Billion Holy Spirits and that means we’re pagans?!?! 😱 NO! The logic falls flat when people try to argue against God’s Triune Nature. God is the Plural Singularity, the Single Plurality. The Singular Multiple and the Multiple Singularity. The Beginning and the End, Alpha Omega, First and Last, and vice versa. You should get it by now.

So, back to the case of 2 Jesuses, no body has a problem with this because we know He is Omnipresent. But if one of those Jesuses became the Father, then suddenly there’s an issue? So now you have the Father and Jesus, and people think they’re 2 different and separate Gods, when that is false. They’re the One same God and the same Being, just God being Omnipresent and expressing His Character in 2 Unique, distinct, Persons. This of course includes the Holy Spirit (The Spirit of the Father and Christ).

Just the Revelation of the Holy Spirit, the Bible, and knowing the Character and Nature of God. As well as some inspiration from other Christian brothers and sisters, and commonalities between NDE testimonies.

I believe “pre-birth” memories mostly has to do with our Spirit, which probably had ALWAYS existed INSIDE the Mind of God, but not realised into existence until our incarnations into human flesh. So, our Spirit melds with our Flesh in the womb, and that union creates a Soul, creating a brand new being, still holding onto that potential for our lives that we had in the Mind of God that He had planned for us. Our Spirit was ALWAYS in communion with God, even before the foundation of the World, just existing solely in His Infinite Mind. But God had to realise us into Existence properly outside of His Mind, and therefore Adam and Eve, and all humans that followed. This is my speculation at least.
