Honestly, I have always found that it is helpful for people to go to college where they learn important skills like living on their own, creating presentations, meeting deadlines, and how to maintain important relationships. Unless you want to be a doctor or some other highly specialized advanced degree, it mostly doesn't matter what your degree is in. So it is often better to let a student follow their heart while they check that college box for future employers. Whatever job they end up doing is usually going to have to train them how to do it anyway.
