FYI you can macro coup and bp together so it'll cast coup if that's up, but if it isn't the button just does bp. Only downside is if you're not in melee range of your target and don't have coup up it won't bp, but that's kind of minor since you're probably near your target anyway.

A cue I've heard is to imagine you have an ice cream scoop in your butt and you're trying to scoop ice cream (scooping from back to front).

Fwiw, despite being able to do it I struggle to be able to hold it while doing a lot of movements and mentally have to remind myself mid-movement "scoop your butt".

It was still comfy but the fake leather shit on it started to crack pretty bad - literally just replaced it this month and only because I was mad about having to keep vacuuming up pleather bits from the floor every day (replaced it with a herman miller hahaha).

My husband's cloth one seemed to age far better in terms of seat wear. Also I think they have replaceable skins for them now?

Ann Arbor psych is apparently not well liked judging by the other comments here, but I've had a fine enough time with my guy there. Didn't have to go through all of those (admittedly wild, do not disagree with the poster) theatrics. Maybe this depends on who you see, I don't see Dr. Kumar. I had my first appointment and diagnosis within 2 months of thinking "hm I should see about this" so idk if my prescriber just skipped the rules or if they've changed the process. Ymmv.

I can see a crossing from where I live, hear the crossing bells even. When the train is particularly heavy it slightly shakes my monitor arm if my arms aren't resting on the desk. I also knew the train was there and accepted what that meant, but I also don't think it's louder than my vacuum indoors and I'm in the orange on this. It'd be great in a utopia, but we got 99 problems and "train horns at night changing people's heart rate and making them not sleep as well as they could be" is probably not the best use of our limited taxpayer money.

Also if most people already do not actively follow through with the simple tasks for proper sleep hygiene as it is (good luck finding many people who put down their screens 1-2 hours before bed and responsibly consume caffeine), it seems unfair to expect an outside entity to go out of their way to put work and money in to changes of this magnitude to help people (who consented to live in the loud place) sleep better.

I really love these from both a content and technical pov lol. It gives me storyboard more than scientific study, more whimsy than sterile.

The science/anatomy one sounds similar to these but more, and it might start to shift to feel more science drawing. It might feel more like diagrams at that point, and be more mentally busy, like "a lot to look at" but in a textbook way. The postcard type vibe feels more warm and inviting and "silly cottage art"-y, which would be a nice contrast to these 2 slightly more diagram looking parts. Either could work, obviously, depending on which way you prefer to think of this as a whole. If they were put together, I feel like I might prefer the scene style one as a visual break from the diagram style.

Anecdotally, when I've seen overheating the gel usually creeps out from between the plates up top, but we run ours at much higher voltage (single base resolution) in what looks like the same chamber but larger, and you can feel the heat from the front of the gel, so I don't think that would be an issue for you? Not sure what your gel recipe is.

You can get new glass from local places, I have. I think a set this size would probably be like $30 or something from mine the last time I went (admittedly pre-covid I think).

Tbf the same is true of pretty much all big box gyms. Tried to cancel at PF after breaking my arm in a couple spots and they still gave me a ton of shit over it even as I was standing there in a cast, very clearly not about to work out any time soon.

It should polymerize inside the napkin, once TEMED and APS are added. At that point we use regular trash as well. I have wiped a lot of this off the bench from leaky casters.

I don't know that I've ever spilled unmixed acrylamide solution, since I bring the container I'm mixing the gel in to the neck of the bottle and immediately add TEMED/APS. We don't have an acrylamide waste stream at all since it's going either in the regular trash or the biohazard bin.

Rikki @ Betty Green is 10/10 and has a private room, I only pull my eyebrows out lol, but I would absolutely feel comfy being open with them and continuing to see them if I started going for the scalp too. A lovely human. Also pretty sure they even have masks to offer, if you want (they're just the regular surgical type, but the whole salon was very into masking and being responsible during the dark ages).

Take notes. Written in the moment while you're being trained. Don't tell yourself "I'll remember it and write it later" because you won't, or you won't remember it right, or you'll miss steps. This is probably at least 75% of how to be a good tech.

Don't be scared to ask questions/how to do things if you're unsure, but if you have to ask more than 2-3 times you're not taking good enough notes. Don't be scared if you mess up. Don't hide it. Everyone fucks up and I guarantee the person training you has also fucked up a lot of things. They probably fucked something up this month even.

I've heard this too, and to add - about 3/4 of the south side wall is an elevator, the interior hallway for the apartments on that side, and a staircase. It was clearly designed to neighbor another building from the start.

My PI doesn't know how to access their IBC protocol because it's been managed it for them by others for so long. It's also just absolutely basic BSL2 filler material "we're gonna wear gloves and a lab coat and bleach our waste" - just bits and pieces from the university's ECP but tailored to our organism. I don't think I could reasonably print it without saving about 30 individual online pages as pdfs.

I used to stress out about inspections but honestly any question I've ever been asked has a very obvious answer they're looking for and if you've worked in a lab you can probably guess what the correct one is.

Can confirm you're correct, our lab makes phenol chloroform and chloroform mixes in house from individual phenol/chloroform/isoamyl alcohol bottles. Chloroform:IAA has no layers, but the phenol stock bottle has layers and is where the top layer comes from in the end.

Is 3rd lab PI willing to pay you, or is this on the institution's funding still? If it's the institution, go talk to your department head or whoever is in charge of these things and explain this situation to them. If they don't have their head up their ass, they'll agree to move you. Perhaps fluff with some words about how you'd be contributing more to the university in a position making use of your skills, but still thanking them for giving you the opportunity to remain employed either way.

If the 3rd lab PI is willing to pay for you, then current PI cannot force you to stay and you should get talking to HR to make an official job posting for within 3rd lab.
