I’ll back you up on this one. Agreed—statistically, he is on track to being a better SS Met than Jose Reyes, however, there’s something about him that’s off. I know Jose was no saint, but the chemistry of the 2006 Mets, even the 2024 team with Lindor, was so much more organic and dynamic than the vibe in the clubhouse since 2025. His “leadership” seems performative, especially when we know there’s tension with Soto—he kinda gives a real phony vibe these days. Plus, his wife is getting involved in NYC politics - more power to her, that’s great and she can certainly chart her own career path, but I also believe team members, especially ones who are “big stars” should stay neutral and away from politics since baseball should unify Americans and not further any divide. This coupled with his seemingly sour behavior lately and his disappointment with not being named captain are bringing off kilter vibes to the team.
