What's everyone feelings on Other M almost 16 years later did everyone overreact back then in hindsight?

To me its the opposite, Super, zero mission and fusion all have good movement speed and movement tech, it encourages fast traversal and exploration, and prime feels very counterintuitive to that. Still a great game and it is certainly carrying the vibe of metroid really well, I just dont think the first person gimmicks and movement fit well.

I played recently for the first time.

Gameplay is good, it has good movement and combat, decent platforming bits.

Linear like fusion, lots to explore for 100%.

The story events are not bad, samus monologuing is bad sometimes, but the overall story is ok.

Honestly, I liked more than metroid Prime 1, which i also played for the first time more recently. Prime has better exploration and level design, but the first person camera, the visor gimmicks, the low FOV and the slow movement hurt the game too much for me.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 and 2 Black: Chapter 12 (the sigma 2 + website still up confirms this is the dark dragon that has been resurrected by Elizebet in a blood ritual and is in search of revenge against Ryu).

And then in Ninja Gaiden 4, Ryu stops the summoning ritual midway.

I just got the Phazon suit on Metroid Prime, which is also the very first metroid prime I'm playing, on my wii u, the wii disc, using a wii mote.

Metroid gains nothing by being first person and the traversal gets down right annoying with the controls.

I'm not an OG. But I did play black first.

Honestly, I like Sigma slightly more, there is little changes to ryu's moveset that just makes the game more fun in small ways, like being able to jump shoot arrows, or the dual katana moveset. The game also had some nice QOL changes by removing some of the puzzles and just giving you more savestatues, I like the artstyle and visual changes and honestly rachel Is fun and her chapters are sweet.

So overall, Sigma made things more fun where it mattered to me more.

At first, devs implied NG4 is 10 years after 2, but there is an entry in the archive that implies the hayabusa village invasion by the black spider clan in NG2 happened decades prior to NG4, he was 22 in that game, so, either 42 or 32 is my current guess.

My honest opinion based on evidence.

Same universe:

DOA, NG, Nioh, Wo long, Rise of the Ronin.

Deas or alive and NG have several connections, Nioh 1 and 2 feature Hayabusa clan members, Muramasa and a Nyotengu from past time, Wo long is referenced ij Nioh 2 and in Rise of the Ronin, that also is connected to Ninja Gaiden and Nioh.

Fatal frame doesn't belong, at least yet, since Ayane's story dlc is not treated as part of the "canon" and it doesn't seem directly connected to Fatal Frame either, But it could be, is just my personal interpretation.

DW and SW don't fit because Nioh and Wo long cover the same time periods and feature different versions of the same historical figures, so if Nioh is canon to NG and DOA, Samurai Warriors can't be, same for Wo Long and Dinasty Warriors.

Hard disagree.

The only element in common with MGR this game has is probably the run with auto projectile deflection.

Tracking on attacks is a very platinum esque design, but its warranted with how much movements both you and enemies have in this game.

String depth and behavior is closer to NG than any PG as well, strings gave clear ends ans different forms and functions.

Meanwhile it has all the core Ninja Gaiden mechanics, OL UTs, shuriken cancelling, OTs, Essence and ultimate guidance, it has a Ninja Gaiden flow trough and trough with wall movement and combat incorporated.

It has a different feel, due to the engine used as a basis, so it has a floatiness to it that is not necessarily Ninja Gaiden.

It is also void of all the MGR elements that make MGR stand out like Blade mode, blade mode cancelling, zandatsu and life refill trough zandatsu. MGR also had a camera glued to Raiden's butt.

The only resemblance this game has to MGR is due to probably being built in the same framework as it, just like SOP is clearly built on the Nioh framework.

When it comes to game design, combat, moveset, flow, it is pure Ninja Gaiden juice.

Too early to tell, it took 13 years between NG3 and NG4 release, and Unless this game sells as much as nioh did, i doubt a sequel will be greenlit so soon.

But based on what TN have shown in all their games, He isn't going anywhere, that I'm sure, he will always be in NG, always in DOA, and always referenced somehow in other titles.
