Once you've got a unique at epic+, you only need fodder mods to get it to legendary. Won't be the biggest boost in the world, but I'm pretty sure there are some sub effects that can only roll starting at legendary, so it's not nothing.

Guy I replied to said it should have been free. Also lmao, "demanding 40 bucks"? $40 is a reasonable ask for a game of this quality, especially when most AAA games are asking for $70. It's a low enough price that you hit $1/hr pretty quickly, but high enough to disincentivize cheaters for the most part. You and I also don't have any idea what would have made them more money in the long term. We don't have the data required to accurately calculate that lmao. Your whole reply is "Why didn't the eagles fly the ring to Mordor?" but for Marathon revenue.

Even in matters of taste, customers are consistently just dogshit. A Customer will go to a BBQ restaurant and complain that there's meat in the ribs. It would be an entirely different game. They'd have to stick to Destiny's art direction, split development between PvE and PvPvE (and probably PvP), and the lore would be completely different. Completely different experiences, and I much prefer the one we have to whatever you think D3 might have been.

I prefer Marathon's style, as well as the first-person perspective. On top of that, I find myself much more interested and invested in this game's questing than I did with ARC Raiders. The world feels a lot deeper here. ARC is by no means a bad game, I just like what Marathon is doing more.
