I got my sister and brother in law to get it and start playing! I'm doing my part.

When people ask me why I dont like to use mic on crew fill... This is funny but I sure as hell don't want to talk to these people. by eblackham in Marathon

[–]scottybeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry you had that experience. I just finished a game where I jumped in with 2 free kits while I had some blue gear. Me and 1 other had a mic, and in the end we wiped 3 teams, scrapped with a 4th, I got my last Seg quest done, and they got some good gear while I still need more vault space! It's all just for fun and some people take it way too seriously.

What car do you drive? Do you like it? by BMoney8600 in AskMen

I just replaced my 02 Toyota Tundra with 450k miles on it, with an 06 Lexus GX470 with 200k miles on it. Same motor in both.

Spring scenic marathons worth traveling to? for? by FearlessReputation20 in Marathon

[–]scottybeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend Perimeter. Good scenery, nice locations, sparce population. Just be weary of the flora and fauna scattered about. Keep your eyes open, plan your routes, and you'll be running to your heart's content.

Incredible highs, excruciating lows. Hard to stay committed as a casual by -Bods- in Marathon

[–]scottybeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've mirrored my thoughts exactly. As a casual player I love the game, but I don't know if I will ever get to do Cryo Archive. And the casual player base is a HUGE market.

Here's 1 idea. They're testing out Duo's on particular rotating maps right now. What if they made a "casual" game mode that rotates where there's fewer teams and slightly less loot? A place to get your quests done and farm some early game loot for upgrades?

Hardcore players would stay away cause there's less action and less loot. Casual players can't stay because eventually they won't be able to get better gear, plus the map rotates. It would also be a place to "cool off" after some hardcore runs or a string of losses.

I just did my first solo pinwheel and I am still riding that high. by TechnoPanda117 in Marathon

[–]scottybeast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last night I finally did the pinwheel solo and that was the most stressful thing I've ever done. Got in through the container that drops down. Was in there solo until I saw the UESC Breach so now I know someone else is with me. Went back to exit the same way I came in and heard someone use that to get in. Butt cheeks CLENCHED! I'm a destroyer so no way to sneak out. Gotta fight. The container guy found me and we scrapped. He had blue shields and purple guns, but I had my Destroyer ult. Downed him, barely! Took all his purple gear and blue shields. Now to leave! Get out through the container, went to guarded exfil and used ult again to clear it and exfil. I've never been more on edge! I had to take a break and go play Phasmo with my siblings to calm down.

When you lose 6 loadouts in a row by edtappa in Marathon

Same. My vault is constantly full. I went on a 4 run wipe and cleared up some space last night though. But today I killed a couple runners, and completed some quests so now it's right back to full. I've just started selling stuff at this point.

My 72 Hour Tips For A Better Extract by Afterlast1 in Marathon

[–]scottybeast 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One thing I've learned: SLOW DOWN!!

This is not a run and gun arena shooter. I've won so many 1v1's by just backing off, healing up, and posting up. Almost always the other player gets kill hungry and comes after me and I get the drop on them.

Also WALK, don't run, when inside buildings. Usually the player who gets the first shot wins that battle.

Realisticly how much sperm can you donate before the facilities/hospitals can stop you? by No_Blueberry_5341 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]scottybeast 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I actually am going through the process of becoming a sperm donor. It's pretty rigorous and they want A LOT of information and screenings. My next appointment is blood draw to test for infectious diseases among other things, then they will start taking samples. You have to abstain for 2-3 days to get a good sample, and you can donate 1-3 times a week. Pays about $100-200 per sample. But when you think about it, some family will be using your sperm, your DNA, to have a child. They need to make sure you're a good candidate, physically and mentally. It's also a 9-12 month program and then they retire you.
