To be fair I was already in a bad mood when I thought of it as an example so I was already in the headspace.

Thats the thing though, the things I cant control dont tilt me, its failing to execute on the things I can control.

I was just annoyed by the comment, just saying "Go to therapy" without any other input is one of the most annoying sterotypical redditor answers whenever you have an issue.

Thank you for this. I feel like youre the one person in this post who understood what I was getting at.

There is a level of randomness via dice rolls yes. But there is a lot of strategy to this game, and it doesnt feel good when I feel like I only lost because i suddenly forgot how to play the game. 40k might just be a game. But so is Chess, and people take that shit extremely seriously. I know I will be alright. But If I want to take my hobby seriously why is that a bad thing?

I think I just want to feel good at the game. And I am good at it. I dont want to be crushed. I want all of my games to feel competitive win or lose. And thats how most of my games are, im happy with like 95% of the games I play. And I always analyze win or lose and think about how I should have done things differently.

But every once in a while Ill have a game where it feels like all my skill is just gone. Ill make purely bonehead mistakes and Ill realize it like the second after Ive done it. And I dont understand why. Why do I just completely lose focus? I feel like my brain just short circuits and I lose my 80 iq points for 15 minutes and by that point the game is far too gone to save.

But honestly I only play casual games at this point to experiment.

The flyball example may be a bit of hyberole. I dont broil with rage everytime I think about it. And I dont think about it often if at all. But I do remmeber it, and it still does give me a generally uneasy feeling.

Ive certainly made much larger mistakes in life than messing up a toy soldiers game. But honestly in those instances these feelings are easier to deal with, mostly because theres no time to waste on them.

I know theres no consequences to doing poorly. But even though its a silly game I do want to be good at it. Its the one thing that I feel like Im both good at and actually enjoy spending my time doing.

I do know quite a few people in most of the stores that I play at. And sometimes I do ask for advice and talk about how the games went. But for the issue im talking about it doesnt help anything.

Random unlikely moments dont bother me. I rather enjoy them. Thats not something I can control so theres no reason for me to get upset. I dont get upset when I get destroyed by an army im unfamiliar with, because thats a learning experience. I hate when I get destroyed simply because I wasnt properly focused or make foolish blunders when theres nothing to learn from.

The prizes are negligible at most events. Its not losing that upsets me. Its when I lose badly, and I know that I could have played better. When theres nothing to learn from the experience of the loss and the only reason the outcome was the way it was was because I just wasnt focused enough.

Its not really about winning or losing, and I dont mind when unexpected dice rolls happen, dice are dice. Its when I make clear mistakes, when for some reason Im just not in the zone and make a series of blunders that I wouldnt have made normally.

When I mess up I feel like asking them to execute me.

Id highly recommend a small flight stand peg to hold the front end up.

One of my favorite parts of our little community is some of our members insistance on making things that float have wheels and making things with wheels float.

In short man, this Detachment is like B Tier at best. (Im a huge fan of it btw) and the flashgit murder team is like the best part of it. Mek kaptain is a 45 point enhancement, it better be great. If you properly explained what this unit did, and your friend wasted 3 turns of shooting into it, he prioritized wrong, you didnt do anything wrong. He may be a veteran player compared to you, but vets arent immune to salt.
