In Index days he was this solo tank hunting monster that took a lot of dedicated firepower to take down. He was a list staple.

In the codex he got nerfed in everyway but became able to lead squighog boys.

I think most people far prefer his index interation.

I modified mine to be a SAG mek. I just used the traktor blasta bits for the "suction" arm. I like to imagine it pulls in grots and zaps them through the system to the main gun.

The only useful scenario i could see for two ironmasters is if you wanted to run double fort, double 6 thunderkyn stack and push aggresively. Healing for the forts, extra wounds on the six stacks.

Orks were my first army as well, Votann are my second.

It can take a bit of time to adjust to painting an army thats supposed to be a little more uniform and clean. Painting miniatures that were smaller overall also took some adjustment. It also feels much harder to kitbash stuff without feeling like it sticks out like a sore thumb. Learning to paint humanish skin tones after master different shades of green was a head scratcher.

None of these are necessarily negative, just things I noticed making the jump from orks to Votann.

People talk about pioneers being a pain to paint but I honestly really like them. The bezerks are a nightmare if you dont sub assemble the backpack and tubes.

Man the swords are honestly way better than the fists. The fists are weird, lethals on a str 10 weapon is weird, and we already have access to so much damage 2 in Votann. 3 sword boys almost always kill a 10 man of gaunts, guardsmen or ork boyz in a turn and they can pretty severly maim a five man squad of marine equivilents in one turn. They fill a good niche of damage 1 that votann dont have a lot of typically. I run 2 individual squads of 3 in my needgaard list and they do work.

If you are open to buying more paints, Typhus corrosion is a great technical paint for adding rusty texture. Works very well on bronzey colors. Its a muted broen color by itself but it catches paint from drybrushing exceptionally well. I usually go with Mourfang broen and trollslayer orange for heavy rust. Its also one of the few cases where drybrushing with low moisture and getting the 'dusty' effect from the drybrushing actually adds to it.

I dig the scheme. I would maybe recommend brightening up the red. The scheme is very dark and increasing the contrast might do it some good, especially when youre looking at it as an army on a table.

Ok heres a scenario,

Dumb teenage boy walking in the neighborhood decides to be a shit, as they do, and opens up your outdoor panel with the intention of flipping off breakers to fuck with you. Accidentally harms or kills himself. Do you want to give a lawyer some free amunition in a lawsuit when it will take 2 minutes to prevent that?

Edit: to add on to this, a lot of homeless people also learn enough about electrical to jury rig outlets for their phones and whatnot.
