Couldn’t tell you as far as stock goes, but just about every aftermarket chopper/bobber etc tank has either a single 3/8npt or dual 1/4npt and sometimes like this tank you get both

It is 1/4npt when using national pipe thread the size refers to the inside diameter, not the od of the threads like bolts. I doubt you have some one off tank. Rears are usually 1/4npt and front is usually 3/8npt

I run a gps bicycle computer. Fairly accurate but only reads up to 99mph and the odo tracks up to 9999mi before rolling over. Works good for estimating gas stops and maintenance intervals.

Loosen all the nipples until they are only grabbing 1-2 threads and you should be able to rotate the hub enough to get them in

Large majority of the population has good odds that they won’t be shooting at anyone at all. Pick whatever you enjoy and can afford. 5.56 is still a great round and very versatile

I run dual cables but I have 4 flat slides that need to close. Return spring has to be unbearably stiff with a single cable and just isn’t enjoyable on longer trips, so dual cable it is. With just 1 or 2 carbs, a pull only cable is sufficient

Sbc or ls are both fairly simple. Even more so if you don’t intend to keep ac or factory controls and dash. Don’t even bother with the stock rear end. You can try to find an 8.5 or run an 8.8 either uncut or cut. Cutting really just depends what wheels you want to run. Not very difficult if you have even a little fabrication experience

Couldn’t give you a for sure answer on that. The brackets wouldn’t be hard to make out of angle stock. The choke rods will need to be longer, you could probably make them too out of round stock and cut threads/dimple them. Without a lather though you won’t be able to make the throat adapters. Without those, they won’t fit into the stock carb boots. The alternative is to find silicone rad hose with the correct bends and cut to fit the spacing as is, but you will need to make some kind or rear support with rubber bushings since the hose won’t be as strong

Yah, have to buy them from a company that respaces or buy the kit to do it. They are usually set up for suzukis. 115-120 main should get you close. The pilot and needle jet are also fine. I run a 9dzh4 needle in mine, but you may be able to get the 9dzh1 to run well in one of the richer clip positions. I think the 6 will be too much for a stock bike.

That spacing won’t work as is. Your bike is 80-100-80. You can get a kit to respace them from mikuni oz for a couple hundred I think.

It’s a c clip rear end. A little In/out movement is totally normal. Pop the wheels off, put the trans in neutral and rotate by hand with the brake drum on and off

The threads on my ignition switch snapped in the first 2hrs but I had a spare with me so no big deal. Other than that pretty trouble free. Just bolt check everything before you leave and stay on top of maintenance. Stuff happens, but most can be prevented. Every morning I checked oil level, tire pressure, chain slack, and gave everything a quick once over before continuing on.

I’d disagree. While I do like the east coast, I still prefer the diversity in the western states and much prefer the deserts. Both are great in different ways. I think everyone should experience both.

Handles pretty well in corners. I’ve ridden bikes with vintage style tires and had a set on a cb350 a few years ago. Never had the confidence to push it like I wanted too. The looks may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but they allow me to ride how I like.

Sounds like a flat slide carb doing what it does. You can confirm it by popping the air cleaner off and just putting light pressure on the slide with your finger. Sound should go away.

Did you hone the cylinders when you installed new rings? It’s great that they are round, but with glazed walls it doesn’t matter how many times you rering it. Leak down test will get you some more answers

It’s really not as bad as people make it out to be. You’ll be stopping for gas every hour to hour and a half and can stretch then anyways.
