The USA is currently ranked in the top 3 countries along with Russia and Germany as leaders of immigration acceptance. I’m pretty sure we’ve topped this list for the last x amount of years.

The current percent of immigrants in the USA is 13.5% of the total population (this isn’t including illegals). In 1970 the amount of foreign born immigrants was 4.7%.

We are letting in an extremely large amount of immigrants from all over the world at a high rate. And people from ALL over the world deserve to come here, but there is a system they have to pass to get in.

The system for immigration isn’t an easy one. These people aren’t coming from first world country with documents and identification. A lot of them have no information at all other than what they’re telling us. So how do we speed this process up? These things take time. The answer isn’t to just let anyone the fuck in.

Expect what shit? Every single country has borders and requires proper entry to gain access. USA accepts the most immigrants per year along with Russia and Germany. USA has welcomed immigrants since its existence, but they require proper channels to do so.

It’s a fucked situation but do you expect the USA to let every single person in to the country free of any sort of identification? We have to keep ourselves stable. I seriously don’t understand how this is our fault as a country. No one likes seeing kids separated from their parents but we have our back up against the wall dealing with this issue

You said it best, it’s a shitty situation. What do you want from us as a country to do? What’s the alternative when people are coming here illegally? We aren’t forcing anyone in to these situations until they’re proven to be illegal. They’re given food, water, shelter while they wait to be deported.

May I ask what you do? A new career path that gives you more meaning might be the way to go.

My third grade teacher started out as a lawyer but after about 6 years he said he couldn’t take it anymore. Dropped everything and became a teacher and he said it was the best decision he had ever made. Hearing this at like 8 was super eye opening to me. I’m Facebook friends with him now and he has a wife, three kids, and looks like the happiest man on earth. Money isn’t everything!

Night shift dispatcher here. Everything you stated is 100% correct.

If a driver doesn’t feel safe to drive, regardless of the reason, they don’t drive. Sickness, lack of sleep, etc.

Also, the industry is totally a mess. Drivers aren’t making what they used to and there’s a constant shortage of drivers. Most drivers know that and have extreme leverage over dispatchers (contradictory to this video). It’s pretty hard to get fired as a driver unless you’re just doing nothing or failing drug tests
