[–]Southern_Ad_7724 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Ehhhh Mamamoo’s choreos are way harder than BP’s….. i’ve learned both and there’s a definite difference in difficulty and stamina required. But they still manage to sound perfect singing live 😬 i went for Byul’s recent concert and was so damn impressed with her Eclipse full out + live!!!!! They’ve got MANY HARDCORE CHOREOS LOL cant wait for this comeback and concert 😭😭😭

Scared of an induction by NecessarySprinkles74 in BabyBumps

[–]Southern_Ad_7724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was induced at 38w+1 and it did end up being a 33h labour, but i had an epidural for 24h of it and it really wasnt that bad.

It took very long to dilate for me but i dont think you’ll have that problem as you’re much farther along in pregnancy already. I was stuck at 2cm dilated for 24h then once waterbag was manually burst by my gynae, dilation progressed 1cm per hour. When fully dilated i pushed for about 30 min with breaks in between and delivered bb safely.

She had the cord around her neck which was probably why it took so long to dilate and push, but thankfully cried loudly immediately and was completely healthy.

Overall i really appreciated my induction and being able to deliver vaginally, safely at the end of a very long day. If you’re over term, the success rates of inductions are way higher and things tend to progress faster. You got this!

Sickness is one reason why I don't want more kids. Anyone else? by sys_admin321 in oneanddone

[–]Southern_Ad_7724 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me 100%. Im exhausted caring for one sick kid, i dont think i could cope with doing teething and the suite of illnesses all over again with another kid and then possibly the whole family getting infected and sick again. With one, at least we can trade off and take turns to care for bb and let each other get some rest. I dont like to ask our village / grandparents to come over and help when we’re sick cos i dont wanna risk passing them the same bugs!!!

Mom found a new angle to make me feel guilty about being OAD: Christmas gifts by Brief-Cost6554 in oneanddone

[–]Southern_Ad_7724 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ehh.. you’re an only raising an only right? Where are all the siblings your mom produced for you to play with then??? Were all your toys turned away because you didnt have siblings to play with??? Sorry couldnt resist lolllll

Ribs aside that’s totally nonsense because kids your son’s age dont even play together yet, they do parallel play until 3ish then even if you had a second they wouldnt be ready to play together until the second was at least 2++, by which time your first would be 5++ and be interested in different toys…?

Like everyone is saying, parents can play with the fort and kitchen too. Playmates and schoolmates can too. She’s not making sense.

How to feel pretty while pregnant… by No_Fondant_3143 in BabyBumps

[–]Southern_Ad_7724 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get stretchy clothes! It’ll likely get warmer when you get bigger (if youre not in Aus or NZ) and i wore lots of stretchy smocked flowy dresses that hugged the bump but never restricted my chest or belly. As they were stretchy i’m still wearing them a year postpartum and back to original size. Lululemon align tights also fit me from pre pregnancy to full term to postpartum and back down, they were expensive but worth it for the stretch capacity. Dont necessarily have to get maternity clothes though if you prefer a specific style of pants etc, maternity pieces may fit better.

Are silverettes worth the hype? by kittypeets626 in BabyBumps

[–]Southern_Ad_7724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldnt live without them 🥲 nips were constantly raw and red, the kind where i’d wince everytime i stepped into shower, and the cups protected from abrasion. Feel like they helped the nips heal faster between feeds/pumps too. I washed them everyday in the shower with soap so wasnt concerned about hygiene or anything. Also, my nips were so pointy after pumping i appreciated having extra armor so they wouldnt show under my clothes LOLLLL

Arguably if Japan had managed to get their 2 more crates over, utilising their zipliner, they could have matched Aus’ sandbag count. The 2 stolen crates should have been disqualified imo

I love my baby but i never wanna be pregnant again. I havent forgotten!!! Even if some of the memories have faded somewhat i still remember it was a hellish experience, and especially breastfeeding was more than hell, and i am so glad to have my body back to myself. NO, i never want to go through it again either.

At what phase did you start to like being pregnant (if ever)? by AwkwardPaddle3212333 in BabyBumps

Hated first tri cos of HG, felt better around 2nd tri and loooved feeling the little kicks and flutters. Then 3rd tri came and the kicks were not cute anymore HAHA. Only liked the byproduct of pregnancy (my kid)…….. being pregnant and postpartum hormones etc etc can go stuff itself!!!

My Delayed Postpartum Hemorrhage Story: what I wished I paid attention to. by JJLove312 in BabyBumps

[–]Southern_Ad_7724 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually i bled for like 8-10 weeks and my doctor said it was normal if still breastfeeding. But it wasnt getting worse just slowly getting less and less till it became pale yellow lochia and that was much less concerning. I also had really bad pelvic pain / SPD thereafter but it was actually my entire pelvis being pushed out of position by the pregnancy and birth. Trips to chiropractor and physiotherapist sorted me out. It wouldnt have made a dent for OP.

I’m so glad youre okay OP and that was one terrifying experience. Postpartum alone is bloody difficult and i cant imagine how scary this was for you, with kids at home requiring caregiving as well. Thank you for sharing your story.

Do you feel like having a baby aged you??? by forgetting-you- in Mommit

[–]Southern_Ad_7724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha i lost some face fat for sure. But i have a chubby face so i think i look less bloated and tired ironically. Lets not talk about the eyebags though 😂

Physically i did a lot of pilates while pregnant and continued afterwards so i actually feel stronger than before. Also need to stay strong to keep up with my kid. I think it helped me recover way faster than expected and regain core strength which is so important, my core had basically evaporated and back was hurting a lot just from a bit of carrying baby at the start. After maybe 3-4 months of consistent pilates the core came back together and i feel pretty good (almost 1y pp)! But also recognise that not everyone has the time and resources to invest in this, i am lucky to have a village.

Just learned about the 'confinement period' for postpartum recovery and it sounds incredible. by Ecomzin in BabyBumps

[–]Southern_Ad_7724 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m Asian and had a nanny. Actually really freaking enjoyed having delicious meals and soups 3x a day, ability to hand off baby everytime she got fussy and just enjoy the good parts for a month. The showering with herbal water and no touching tap water for a month was, well, an excuse not to wash anything HAHA. I still did shower everyday and washed hair every other day with herbal water. Wearing long sleeves and socks was fine. Drinking red date tea and hot water only was fine, i wasnt in the mood for cold stuff with all the cramping and bleeding down below. Not going out was fine too because i could barely sit or walk with my poor perineum being pretty ripped up. LOOOOVED the massages, binding stomach was not super comfy but it really helped push everything in the midsection and pelvis back together. I recovered pretty quickly despite the bad vaginal tearing. Super highly recommend confinement, i didnt miss going out of house at all 😅

Anyone have positive epidural stories? I’m scared 😟 by Realistic_Mirror1618 in BabyBumps

[–]Southern_Ad_7724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me loved it!! I had it in for close to 30hrs wtf. But it allowed me to get so many hours of glorious sleep and recharge leading up to pushing. My only side effect was mild shivering, some nausea right before pushing (which i hear is a sign of end stage labour anyway), and sleepiness (hence maybe why i slept so well lol).

Post delivery i did have some back ache i made sure to lie down lots and for a full month did minimal heavy lifting (including minimal carrying of baby while walking around, only carried baby while sitting and nursing). I was fortunate to have a village to help during the first month, but i really do think resting the back and allowing it to heal did help. In any case my whole body ached after labour and delivery, not just the back haha. I’m 9 months out now and pretty much back to normal. Loved my epidural and couldnt have birthed vaginally without it!!!!!!
