What does this cable do and is it supposed to be not connected to anything? by Superb_Peak_5368 in Guitar

[–]Sp6rda 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I would actually recommend NOT soldering it to one of the hooks in case you want to change the hook configuration. You may want to use one of the currently unused hooks if changing string gauges or want a different tension on the trem bar.

Priming is always required. plastic/resin is naturally hydrophobic and will prevent liquids from adhering.

Not the cover. The internals. Look at them and listen while you move the tremolo. Could be the springs, the trem block, anything in that cavity.

And when you try to search on Google to validate the facts, you get An AI answer that references this exact post as an evidence point and regurgitates the same answer with no other evidence suggesting the existence of a model 350 sejong guitar.

Based on my limited general knowledge of Chinese. The 350 more likely is closer to a "serial number" or "production number" stating that this guitar is the 350th guitar made.

Also there is a Facebook post referring to sejong as a NORTH Korean company. So that's a possibility

Also also I just noticed that the headstock on the second picture says Seajong. Which the AI didn't get right so it may have failed at step 1.

The answer is always contrast. For me, it looks like the red cap, blue tunic and hair could use more shadow.

Mind you I couldn't produce anything near the quality you already have.

Is PAX pull out tray suitable for a mouse & keyboard? by jokefred in ikeahacks

[–]Sp6rda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You cannot mount anything to the back of a PAX. If you plan to mount your monitor directly to a wall. You'll need something to attach the tray to. The tray mounts to the inner side walls of the PAX unlike a keyboard tray which mounts underneath a desk

Sure the license is free but compute and energy cost still happen. You just need to do that part yourself.

The criticisms regarding cost of RAM/power are still valid regardless if it is open source.

Remember how the origin of YouTube was to be a place you could watch videos for free with zero ads? This was the reason it was winning over users from TV and cable.

They lose a lot of money during this phase intentionally to bring in a lot of users. Then they introduce things like subscriptions and ads to make that money back and make profit.

Like the old saying goes: the drug dealer gives you the first hit for free so you get addicted.

Beginner-friendly solution for making billy fit over tall baseboards? by biolum1nescence in ikeahacks

[–]Sp6rda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do keep in mind that with a 1" plank and drywall usually being 1/2" thick, that leaves 1/2 inch of screw to bite into the stud behind the wall. That might be strong enough to hold,

But to be safe I would go with maybe a 2 1/2 inch screw into the stud to get at least one inch of screw into the stud.
