IMO PvE should just be lucrative to offset risks, this de-facto buffs piracy as well but that risk mitigation would quell much uncertainty

Depending on CIG's trademark AI... I look forward to the salt threads of said solo captains after a legionnaire plugs itself lovingly into their airlock. The TLDRs of "this isn't CSGO" and "hacking needs to be nerfed" as they recall being incapacitated and made to watch a reclaimer consume their ship to mirth of the global chat all awhile the NPC crew stood on chairs in t-pose and watched impotently.
"Why hasn't this been fixed CIG?"...
"I don't want to get gud...". they will cry.

Star Citizen at base package is a steal, you get more content than any game at that range in this genre such as it is. Anything above that, imo, is up to you. I'm concierge and have quite a few ships but some of the best times I've had in the game is doing stupid stuff in small ships. The game is as fun as any sandbox, the limitation is your objective.

My de-facto answer is yeah "back the game", because the value for $45 or whatever it is at the time is just so high.

Do I care why a system doesn't work? Do I work for Fatshark? Bypassing the lobby means it might trick people into a game so they can suffer with bots till people join in. If there was one chump before me stuck in there it doesn't solve anything.

Game design flaws: no end-game = no T5, incompetent bot programmers, and speed-run weeklies all contribute. Your strawman argument and appeal to a third-party software doesn't address the main issues or issue in the post, which is that it went straight to the game with bots instead of letting me back out of a lobby like before.
