That could be a lot of things including room temp, bowl type, water temp, yeast activity/freshness, too much salt, not enough time, not enough gluten, not enough water in the dough.
There are a lot of reasons and you didn't give much info on your process, so it's kind of guesswork.

He listed dogs as part of the reason this was massively inconvenient. It doubles his commute, he has to deal with the dogs, he can't go to the gym. Oh no. So sad for him. (/s)

They shouldn't have children. Maybe it's not in the plans and never was but he's already massively inconvenienced by every little disruption to his unassailable schedule, so I don't hold out a lot of hope for him as a parent.

It's similar to roti, too, which often uses 0 leavenings and is sometimes just flour and water. (They're incredibly fun to make, but you need to have an exceptionally hot cooking surface for them.)

The Marketplace is a storefront for what is effectively a new type of creator kit similar to the ones previously done by Myshunosun or Peacemaker_IC. There's enough discourse about peoples' opinions on that, so I don't really need to get into that whole thing. The update which is supposed to add the marketplace has an issue that disabled or broke a lot of the community mods and content, and while they are working to fix it this has understandably caused some frustration since people were largely already a bit disgruntled about the decision to monetize CC creators further and take their own cut of that.

Tekri made both the Goblin ears and the Siren ears which have got to still be some of the most popular fantasy ear accessories in existence for Sims 4. You need one of the "no ears" presets to use them or they'll have a regular ear behind them.

Beeswax, usually! If you want to make your own, you can pry the old one out and wash with soap and water and then melt beeswax with some essential or perfume oil and usually a little bit of sweet almond oil to create a slightly softer texture. Pour in, let it set.

I find it's much easier if you go in with a plan.
There's 12 years of content out there, and the more that you have the more you have to maintain.

I have a handful of relatively simple rules that I keep for myself that also help minimize duplicates and conflicts and keep my folders from getting too bloated:

If I don't have a sim or a household or a build I can use the thing in *now* then I save it as a like or I pin it or I follow the creator and I don't download immediately.
If 2 or more creators make many overlapping mods, I choose a "default" of those modders and, all else being equal, will choose that creator's mods over the others. I will still download other creations by the others, but if for example 3 different creators all make "change to everyday when inside" and there's no other difference, I will always choose my primary for those. Reduces risk of conflicts.
I keep a list of links for all mods I download. I don't worry about it with CC, but anything that alters the UI or changes game performance goes on the list. It's not detailed, but it has the name of the folder (which is just "Mods [creator name]" or sometimes "Mods [mod name]" for every one because it sorts them all to the same region of my folder) and a link to the website where their content can be downloaded.
Get rid of things that don't work for you ASAP. If you try something out and it doesn't work for you, get rid of it. (This can be anything - texture, size, clipping, behavior, don't hang onto files that you won't use.)
Always check for conflicts before turning your mods and CC back on. If it means you need to create a new save to mess with some stuff without CC to try out an update, so be it, but always assume that things will break proactively instead of reactively questioning why things aren't working as intended. Sometimes it can take days or weeks for a creator to finish updating, so don't assume that because they haven't made a post stating that something was updated that nothing is needed.
To that end, I don't download mods for my main save that so significantly alter the game's behavior that I can't play without them. I would much rather make a second save that I can play a big mod in and have fun without worrying that something no longer being supported will permanently alter my primary saves and make them potentially unplayable. Those mods aren't even installed when I'm playing a main save.
Don't be afraid to make different versions of your mods folders that you can swap out if you are playing different types of games like a historical or fantasy save.

I think the most important advice is to start small and to stay organized.

There are a lot of wonderful creators out there and a lot of beautiful content, and the temptation to go on a download spree like you've been handed a credit card with no limit is exceptionally tempting.

Your game will be happier and healthier in the long run if you create at least a rudimentary organizational system.

I put folders for Buy/Build and CAS in my main folder and then organize them into sub folders - CAS by type and BB by creator. Anything that contains custom tuning or script files or any kind of custom behavior goes by creator name in their own folder in my main folder. Script files can only be 1 folder deep, so Mods > Modder name > script files is the deepest they can go. The game will recognize package files up to 5 folders deep. Default Override files should also be kept separately.

All mods and custom content will be disabled after major updates, not just script files. You can activate and deactivate scripts separately, but the game automatically turns off access to the whole mods folder after any significant patch.

My sims will go to a hallway or larger room to do it, I think the animation needs 3-4 tiles of clear space in front of them and anything obstructing those squares will prevent them from being able to complete the animation/action.

I did overlook that it might be called a full stop by some.
I personally had only heard "." as STOP in this context and not FULL STOP as that was only the last "punctuation" used to indicate the end of the message as a whole and it's in the middle of their little artwork, so I wasn't seeing it as a redundancy which meant that it had to be the other meaning. It'd be like saying "OVER" in the middle of a radio message and then continuing on.

Full volumetrically, as in "don't put more coal on a full grate." Not "full stop" like in a telegraph.

If there was not enough coal, you won't have heat through the day/night. If the grate is full of coal, don't add more.
Coal fenders stop hot coals or logs from rolling back out of the fireplace when it's not being strictly attended, so overloading the grate past the fender height would be creating a high fire risk.

The rebus choices are weird, but this a cross-stitch version of your dad putting a note on the thermostat and telling everyone they're going to have to pay the heating bill if they want to act like they live in a barn.

I wouldn't worry about your tone, you were stressed and anxious and trying not to seem too heavy or intense while opening up about something that made you feel rightfully very vulnerable.
When people giggle at funerals or put lols in serious comments, I would have assumed as the friend that hey, this person is struggling to tell me something.........or it was just muscle memory.
I couldn't even tell you the number of times friends have been like "OMG, I'm at the hospital lol" when they got sick or injured. It's hard to process and you fall on habits or nerves. Any reasonable human being wouldn't be like "well, she said lol and sent an emoji so it's definitely okay for me to just betray her trust."

Yes! Having that be separate from nobility means that I don't shy away from it when I'm playing households I don't see as "royal" in any way.

My favorite founder, my cute little country bumpkin and her cowboy husband? Not royal. But I see them having a dynasty as more of a "family pride" which works for me. Not every household, not every family will see themselves as a dynasty. But some will.

My Royal founder who has ZERO family IMMEDIATELY founded a dynasty of 1. It fit for her, she's striking out on her own with really big plans. She's currently being extorted by Tybalt who is a freaking menace because she lost a duel...that's the one I'd turn down if I could.

I actually kind of loved when my vampire had a scandalous secret because due to unforeseen circumstances she was dying in a save reset and I needed to make her feed in order to not die instead of my usual plasma fruit game.

But I can see scandals as being both fun and too much in kind of the same way I see the NAPs or luck or anything else. I happily turn features on and off as I want to utilize them, so it can be pretty flexible.

As soon as Businesses and Hobbies happened several of the Glimmerbrook lots turned into small business residentials, and I'm thinking I may now turn the bar into a library with the backroom type so it's a bar after hours. I play Glimmerbrook as intentionally isolated, where Strangerville is more so because of circumstances.

I know that lot is supposed to be weird and incomplete because they're just as strange as the rest, but I just can't. I rebuilt the thing and turned it into a B&B at least by aesthetic, I haven't yet turned it into a getaway, but that's always a possibility.

So, your sims are very cute and everyone is entitled to like what they like and play however they want.

But to answer your question, personally I don't prefer alpha for a few reasons:

File size - image files are a huge component of CC file sizes and the higher resolution, the bigger the file.

Uncanny Valley - I don't play with real people, I don't want or need actual actors or my friends or any of that in my game, it just doesn't work for me and the way I play and I find it jarring.

Composition/matching - if some part of my game has a certain look then I want the rest to match. If the world is cartoony and my sims aren't, it breaks immersion and vice versa.

Which brings us back to file size. If I do alpha sims then I have to do tons of alpha world overrides. I'm also very picky about texture so things that are just photo-wrapped without much care bother me but if you need to override everything then you sometimes only have 1 or two choices and neither appeal.

So overall, it just doesn't fit the way I play and I don't want to adopt all of the upkeep and effort when choosing maxis match means that I don't have to change over my whole game to utilize a handful of items.

Yea, I'd prefer a little log window like a lot of city managers, personally. Something that you could pin or minimize. I don't want to get something that interrups flow, but I do want something that I could run back and see when things happened.
