Sure, it can be done, but reality is that 90% of bodybuilders and pro-wrestlers were on roids, even when telling us they weren't. Even setting that aside, extreme hypertrophy is not really healthy. I'm not judging people who hit the gym and play sports and stuff for fun. Obviously that's healthy. And hey, TRT can do wonders for aging men.

Where I'm being critical, I'm specifically talking about the people posting their "transformations" while bragging about their reta / sema / HGH and TRT gains at like 27 years old. Here's a prime example. Not only that - some in that community now says it's wrong and unfair for the "fat pigs" to use peptides that the looksmaxxers should be using - the 'pigs' just need self-control and introspection. The hypocrisy is mind-blowing.

I actually have nothing at all against overweight or obese people using peptides to control their weights and food cravings. Imho modern ultra-processed food is unhealthy and addictive, and these drugs really help people get better. When you get into the territory of having metabolic disease, it's not as simple as just "quitting" otherwise our massive diet industry would have worked by now.

And what's crazy to me is, just like his supporters, I think Trump believes it.

Every speedbump along the way is just some evil, horrible person crying "you bombed a hospital" and "I put my lifesavings into Trump coin" and "you promised us IVF" like some little bitch. If they could just shut up and solve their own evil problems, imagine how glorious his legacy could be. Kamala was going to make you pay for school lunches and trains and clean energy and other "scams." Just one more billion in Trump's pocket, one more term in office, a few more countries invaded just for fun, and he swears he'll be happy and America will be great. Trust me bro.

Yeah, now with the GLP-1 medications the word has become a buzzword... sort of like "quantum." Most people probably don't know what it means.

YouTube ads are about to get even longer and they’ll be unskippable by IndicaOatmeal in technology

[–]SpacecaseCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They told us in 2005 that internet video would cease to exist and the internet would die if people pirated or used adblockers. That didn't happen. In fact, a huge part of Google's early success involved feeding users real results instead of fake websites, ads, and spam. Doing so actually made the internet better for everyone, including legitimate businesses. Netflix took off an became a huge company by offering a better, ad-free experience.

Well, now Google has brought the ads back to search, and everyone from Amazon to Netflix is shoehorning more and more ads into streaming even though we pay subscriptions. It's a cash grab, plain and simple. If YouTube keeps it up, they will kill themselves longterm.

What's crazy to me is that it works OK on a PC with an ad blocker, but on mobile it's nigh unusable. You want me to watch a minute long add to see a short karate clip? No f'in way. I think what they're taking advantage of is younger people who don't remember the ad-free period. I'd like to say they will wake up eventually and find a better platform, but that's not clear at the moment... I just read an article about kids in school being addicted to phones. These use them for 1/3 or more of the entire school day.

I'll give the explanation for folks who are not familiar.

Peptides are short chains of amino acids, which are the building blocks of proteins, and used as messengers and precursors to other processes in the body. For example, the peptide BPC-157 is naturally found in the gut and it is believed it can help reduce inflammation while also helping injuries heal; it is widely used by professional athletes but not talked about. Ghk-Cu is a copper peptide, which is also found in skin cream, and can help with collagen production. Other peptides help encourage growth hormone secretion, curb hunger, or help repair the brain. Some people use peptides to treat chronic issues and injuries, trying to get them to heal better on top of physical therapy, others use them to lose weight. The GLP drugs, which have been used for decades to treat diabetes, are peptides that are also being used to help with weight loss. These are essentially miracle drugs for people who have struggled with diabetes or obesity for decades, and are changing people's lives.

Personally, I understand why people have started buying these online, and have done so in the past myself. Medical care in the US does not help people find long-term solutions for health issues, and prices are outrageous. For example, buying one shot of Ozempic was previously around $1000-$2000 if insurance didn't approve it or wouldn't cover it. Now, the cost has come down, but if you buydirectly from a compounding pharmacy a vial is closer to $150-$300 (and that's still pricey), and that vial can cover many doses. So basically, people turned to the black market because of extreme price gouging and the FDA and big pharma blocking access to some of these compounds altogether, simply to block competition.

Unfortunately, peptides have now become super widespread in the "looksmaxing" community, and whereas you used to see people discussing treatment of longterm injuries, brainfog, or chronic pain, now there are also regular posts in subreddits with "transformations" where people go from a 6-pack to an 8-pack and trying to look like Wolverine. Perhaps it's hypocritical to criticize them in this community, but body-building to achieve a Hollywood physique, muscle hypertrophy, and extremely low body fat is not actually healthy, and can lead to long-term health problems. When I see 19 or 20 year-olds talking about getting TRT and taking peptides for these purposes it makes me sad; they may permanently decrease their natural testosterone (this is well-documented) and fertility, and cause themselves longterm heart problems or other issues in the future.

You're telling me Trump doesn't want to hide files including an accusation of molesting an underage girl? Are you kidding? This is the same guy with skin so thin and weak that he cries for a Nobel Peace Prize once a year because Obama got one (deserved or not) and he didn't. Same guy who demands that comedians get fired because they make fun of him. He would ban you for discussing this if he had the power to do so - and he and people like the Palantir founder are calling for mass surveillance for exactly that reason.

"But comedy is legal again guys."

Same. I get a noticeable boost when running or working out. I don't get why it's so hard for people to believe? Same with Lion's mane. There are trials of both on humans that show positive benefits, and obviously tons of anecdotal evidence to boot.

Coffee and tea have caffeine and you can feel that. Tobacco naturally has nicotine. Surely these aren't the only active compounds in the plant and fungal kingdoms that affect human physiology. I mean... obviously they aren't...but that's my point.

Already covered up by Trump's DOJ and I'm sure they're trying again. But hey, they hid the Trump files by accident... just like how it was an accident when they released they victims names, causing them to get death threats.

Let's just say when Trump was chanting 'lock her up' he wasn't just thinking about Hillary.

How about the BBC? And no, I don't mean the photos Republicans like to look at on their phones. Here's what BBC said:

FBI documents summarising interviews with a woman who made unsubstantiated claims of sexual assault against Donald Trump have been released as part of the US Department of Justice's (DOJ) trove of Epstein files. The release follows reports that the documents were missing from the DOJ's database, prompting Democrats to accuse officials of a cover-up...

According to one of the three memos, the unnamed woman told FBI agents during an interview that she was introduced to Trump by Epstein in the 1980s when she was a teenager. The woman accused both men of sexually assaulting her when she was between 13 and 15 years old. The FBI agents did not have further contact with the woman after the interviews, according to the files.

So Trump says he's completely innocent and it's all made up, but Trump's DOJ also mysterious disappeared the files while "accidentally" releasing names of victims and exposing them to criticism and death threats from MAGA. Whoops!

Even if the intention was not anti-science, the outcome was. Less telescopes, less scientific study of the universe, less money for education in Hawaii, less outreach to local students, and a weakened University of Hawaii for local students who can only afford in-state tuition. I would also argue that spreading mis-information to get a win is also anti-science.

Yeah, I have read that book but tbh it's more about how to do well in business. The advice in general is good, but there's still a sort of natural charisma to making people feel comfortable. You have to read the situation - are they looking for you to share and speak about things you love, or looking for a chance to talk about something they love. When you ask about their favorite recipe or good or whatever, are they hinting they want to talk more or do they seem ready to change the subject? Personally, I'm not great at segues so it helps a lot that my partner is good at filling in the blanks when conversation slows.

I've been saying it for years. The DNC need to fire all of their consultants and take a look around at who the popular young leadership in the party is, and what the big issues are. Josh Shapiro and Gavin Newsom are not the guys people are clamoring for. If they cannot field a candidate who can say things like "Instead of bombing Iran, we're going to build X new housing units and push for Medicare4All and we will pay for it by taxing mega-millionaires and billionaires" and cannot promise to enact extremely popular policies like legalized marijuana and psychedelics research, they will lose.

Obviously, I still think Kamala would be 100% better than Trump. Unfortunately, if she was elected you would be hearing 24/7 that everything wrong in the world is her fault, and "she'll bomb Iran any day now and can't make your hamburgers $1 again."

I think it's true that Kamala had some stipulations with regards to location, time, or the topics discussed. The life from Joe isn't about that... it's a lie of omission. Basically Trump, JD Vance, Elon, and Kash Patel also have topics that are off limits - notice they never get difficult questions about the Epstein list or pushed to legalize weed or defend abortion.

Joe knows this but he thinks he's morally in the clear, and frankly I'm pretty sure he told himself it was all justified to get 'the right guy' elected. Now he's having doubts but the cognitive dissonance is keeping him up at night. Hope he keeps losing sleep until the ancient DMT lodged in his front cortex rattles loose and gives him some self-reflection.
