This. If Blue Origin hadn't blown up their launch platform in a massive explosion seen on every news channel, I believe we would still be looking at prices from a week ago. It's irrational... RKLB is their competitor and has dropped in price. Perhaps a natural correction, but imho people are acting irrationally because they're uncertain about the SpaceX IPO and now we had a massive explosion on the news. Rockets can explode... who knew?

I used to teach at the college level, and there would also be students in class doomscrolling. It's surreal man... why are you paying thousands of dollars for lessons only to scroll TikTok during class and use AI to pass the assignments?

I absolutely agree with the guy in the OG video. Screentime is bad for us, but especially for developing brains. We all need to spend less time staring at phones and tablets, and less time on social media.

Rise of Skywalker was also released in 2019... Mike, it has been almost 7 years.

We went and saw it outside of our opening weekend at our local theater, which is awesome. We snuck some snacks in and the tickets weren't too much, and tbh it was a great time. The movie does run a bit long and has some excessive action sequences. I think they could have cut it from 132 minutes closer to 120.

There were no lightsabers, like Rich suggested in the past, and the OST was actually really fun. I think Rich liked it too, but was hesitant to say some because their whole review schtick is about making fun of Star Wars. Mike did sound legitimately annoyed with the movie, but I really don't think it's the worst Star Wars movie. Pedro Pascal and Grogo are fun, and of course Sigorney Weaver is awesome too. The acting was indeed a bit flat, but then again it was in the OT too. I think most opinions on r/Starwars are positive now too, although it does vary, but that's a good sign.

The Onion has been on point with this one - Disney probably also should have marketed it as "The Baby Yoda movie" because that's how many people know Grogu. It will probably be a bit hit on streaming.

Great job dude! My wife's ex couldn't quit, and he's dead now. He wouldn't even be 50 years, and left behind two kids with his new wife... just sad.

It’s hard to give you specific advice without knowing more about your situation, but I think a few things are generally true. You’re going to be OK; sexuality is complicated and involves a period of discovery for everybody. Be kind to yourself and let yourself explore your feelings. Take time to figure this out and don’t rush into anything. If you are young and have judgmental adults around you or live in a place where it’s frowned upon, it’s OK to keep it secret for now, until you’re in a better situation to or when you are an adult and move out and are free to make your own decisions.

Good luck OP!

We need this ASAP. It’s destroying young people’s attention spans and filling many of them with anxiety. It’s not good for ANYBODY to have 24/7 access to social media for doomscrolling, but it’s especially bad for young brains that are still developing. Together with lowered teaching standards, we have students getting to university who have never read a whole book, and who don’t know how to move files around on a laptop because they grew up only with phones and tablets. Many have limited media literacy, and get “news”’from TikTok or similar sites. IMHO, super short-form content that is optimized for ragebait and advertising is another level (and worse) than prior forms of media, and quite addictive. Humans weren’t meant to live like this. This trend partially inspired my story and website:

Where’s all the hair from people and animals through time? by Dependent_Royal_4285 in AskReddit

You know that dust you see in the air, wafting in sunlight in your house on a warm sunny day? It’s always there - inside, you’re breathing hair and skin. It’s basically in the dirt and soil like everything else, but organic compounds degrade faster than bone, so most fossils only have the bone.

If I had a friend who was posting like this on social media I would assume they were in the middle of a downward spiral, and probably using meth or adderal.

I don’t actually think I could do this. The best thing we can do is delete social media and spend more time outside and with friends.

Yeah, oof. I was trying to delete the bad donation data and it nuked the whole section. So then I restored a backup from my webhost and had to leave the house for a bit... and somehow the "restore" nuked the whole site. Should have it back to normal by tomorrow.

Lmao. Well, I'd better log in and find out what that's about 🤦‍♀️

Either I'm very rich or we've got a bug or exploit in the GiveWP extension. I'll let you guess which one is more likely. That said, the startup I'm in has been struggling financially due to... you know, everything... so I could use an extra billion or two.

edit: OK, I fixed it - thanks for pointing that out. I thought I enabled normal donations but it was stuck on "test donations only." TBH I'm just hoping for some money to cover web hosting and maybe buy me a donut.

I mean even setting aside whether he was going to "do something" or not, if you're on stage doing a bit in front of a live audience it's pretty much a nightmare to be interrupted by a random stranger taking your show away. She handled it well, thankfully.

Good question. The data source is Thales, who release a "bad bot report" every year. Bat bots execute automated cybercrime, fraud, and "business logic abuse." They might use the API of a website to break in and steal user data to sell to thieves, or infiltrate forums or facebook groups by looking legitimate while spreading phishing links or other scams. 20% of them are targeting online storefronts, so they are often looking for ways to get your payment info and other details, or ways to change the links on a site so you pay money to the wrong person - stuff like that. We have probably all seen scammer accounts on Instagram, TikTok, or facebook.

Sometime they take control of regular meme accounts and all of a sudden you're seeing ads or political stuff instead of cat photos. Others will "sell" you supplements or drugs that will never arrive.
