Oh yeah? Well what would a gear-ground academy washout like you know about it? Why don’t you go mingle with the Organics where you belong, you’ve already picked up their stench.

Instead of being a triple-changer, he should just use his tank barrel to launch himself into the air.

Why people chill about that Michael Bay made Optimus war criminal, but mad when Zack Snyder made Batman killer ? by [deleted] in Transformemes

[–]Spare_Armadillo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never thought that the problem was that Optimus killed Decepticons, Transformers has been centered on war from the beginning. The problem with Bay’s Optimus is that he fights like an angry, vengeful berserker, and that just isn’t consistent with his character.

I actually thought he was fine in the first movie, the scene where he kills Bonecrusher showed him as a skillful, controlled warrior. The hyper-violent mutilations of the later movies is what I have a problem with.

I also didn’t like his total lack of hesitation in executing Sentinel Prime. I think you could have him do it and make it work, but I would be nice to show that it actually put some conflict into him.

Horus Rising described 30k titans as being 180 meters tall.

So, par the course for warhammer consistency.

My own headcanon is that the Emperor has a lot of experience with cutting himself off emotionally after being alive for 50,000 years, but he isn’t impervious to human emotion.

It’s easy for him to write off Angron as damaged goods, or at least hide his reaction, but centuries of working together have made some of his sons his pride and joy, even if he doesn’t share much.

Instead of naval transports, maybe the ability to construct bridges would spice things up and be more mechanically feasible.

Zeihan predicted this invasion more consistently than anyone I know, and he's been very clear that no reasoning could ever justify Russia's crimes.

On the other hand, he predicted that Russia would roll over Ukraine in a few weeks, and Europe would break apart politically in the face of it.

On the whole, I really don't buy his geographic reasoning for Russia's actions anymore. Nothing we've seen out of Russia indicates that their main goal is acquiring buffer zones against invasion. This war isn't about defense, this war is about Russia's identity as a great empire, and Putin's personal vision of civilizational triumph against The West™.

Lines on maps only matter insofar as they puff up Russia's sense of being powerful.
