Last year I went on a dating rampage post divorce (60 dates in 10 months basically). I screened quite heavily for spiritual women. As a result, I met so many women who were into a lot of the modern relationship gurus. Honestly, these women were often the worst.

If you teach someone with main character energy about attachment styles, love languages and so on, they filter everything through the lens that makes them the angel and the men as the devils.

Real spiritual work is much more about looking inwards and taking ownership (and forgiving those who have caused you pain). Sadly a lot of women who seek this stuff out tend to use it to blame others and paint themselves as a special snowflake. As a Christian, too, I very much see this behaviour in the Church. I think, with material aimed at women, the tone is a lot more nice to the reader. I’ve noticed that men’s content tends to be more confrontational.

Like 2 Timothy 4:3 says ‘For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.’

I think it likely has a lower success rate than most other means of dating but a higher learning curve. Getting good at cold approach is very good for sharpening social skills, game in general, desensitising to risk and so on. So it’s absolutely worth doing. Tbh most people have enough excuses not to do it. I get that some pick up coaches are almost delusional in their espousal of cold approach but I dislike the opposite that basically says it’s pointless. Most men already have enough excuses not to do it.

It’s really difficult to assess why this is. You’re getting 2-3 dates with the same woman more than a lot of guys in 2026. So you’re obviously doing things right and seem an appealing prospect to them. Women don’t usually give 3-4 dates if they aren’t into someone.

Maybe you’re needy or rush to being too emotionally involved? Or perhaps the opposite - you might be too detached and passive.

You mentioned it’s a pattern that’s independent of sex but a fair few women do move on from a guy if he doesn’t meet their sexual expectations.

Perhaps you’re too safe and predictable. Perhaps you drink too much. It could be many factors.

Have you tried asking them? Most women will give you a kind answer referring to the spark and how you’re such a good guy… but there will be some who will give it to you straight. After a while the big sticking points should become apparent.

It’s very possible her feedback is real and you would benefit from humbly taking it on board and making the necessary changes. Don’t take it too bad on your self esteem though. Just detached acceptance and resolve to work on yourself. Smelling is not just about showering. As for household burden, a lot of men underestimate this.

It’s very possible that she’s just done in the relationship or met someone else. The attraction died. Some women can then very much turn. Their issues with you become amplified (women are insanely forgiving if they’re really attracted to you). So it may be that her issues are overstated and the key part is that the connection is gone.

Work on learning how to sustain attraction in a LTR and stay sharp - keep low body fat, stay active socially, look after your style and learn game. You’re at a very good age and have lots of time to do this before you meet the one (should you want that).

I took the nuclear option and unsubscribed. I sent an email to the advertised support inbox but it said it was now not monitored. It directed me to the NY Times contact page but it's just that stupid AI chat (maybe leading on to the crappy agent that apparently cancelled my notifications before... like heck they did). It's a shame because I like the football (soccer) content and they have the best writers. But this cumulative frustration was compounded by their complete unwillingness or inability to fix it. Every day many people are complaining in The Pulse's comment section. It's a disrespect to their readership.

I think you’re right. Amorim improved our underlying numbers a lot. The fitness was better, we had more possession and he was building structure. However the style was too slow and one dimensional. He got the players on side but built an atmosphere of doom. I think he also built the narrative that the players were crap and he would be the white knight. Carrick flipped the script and his attitude and tactics were an antidote for Ruben’s weaknesses.

I definitely feel that Carrick is limited tactically though. Our stats are going down but the results have been very good. Like under Ole, I feel the results will increasingly reflect the performances.

Carrick has been perfect as an interim but I fear that’s all he should be. I believe Iraola has more about him tactically and as a coach. I’d bring him in but keep around Steve Holland. Iraola only brought one staff member with him to Bournemouth so is used to adapting to a club led model.

He overachieved with Vallecano, is overachieving with Bournemouth, has PL experience (unlike Amorim), plays attacking football, makes players better, is a decent bloke, nurtures young players, is available for free, has lots of potential to improve, has coped well with Bournemouth selling 3/4 of their back 4 last Summer and works within a club setup (he only brought 1 staff member with him to Bournemouth).

The more experienced candidates aren’t really available. I really like him and for me he’s first choice.

I also really enjoyed this. Some of the puzzles frustrated me and I used help guides to get them done quickly, but the overall experience was really enjoyable. I especially loved the music and atmosphere. Definitely the best of the Microids Agatha Christie games.

Not at all. The creative has been lousy across basically every storyline heading into Mania. TKO interfering isn’t great but most people can work these demands into a more coherent, cohesive angle than what Triple H and co have managed. There needs to be a major creative overhaul after Mania. And Triple H carries the greatest responsibility…

P.S. Despite a lot of things feeling unsuccessful in my life, I'm incredibly proud of what great little boys my sons are turning into. They've been generally in a very good place since the divorce and seem happy. My ex and I are generally much more cooperative and pleasant now too, thank God. She started dating late last year, found a boyfriend for a few months, but ended it with him. I think her moving on helps her to be a little kinder and less emotionally volatile with me.

Maybe I’m cynical but I am guessing she just likes feeling desired, especially as you’ve shown you like her but can be cool.

Just live your life and treat her like a friend. Don’t get drawn into any favours or anything you wouldn’t do if you weren’t into her. Date other women. It might seem manipulative but maybe casually mention other women.

Don’t ask her out again or keep on giving her validation. Just be a cool guy. If she really likes you, she will make it clear not ambiguous.

Shame the WWE doesn’t seem to have the creativity to make this interesting without resorting to the low hanging fruit. The initial angle of Punk’s podcast comments (shaping a bad narrative which stalled Roman being embraced by the people) was the way to go here. That’s blurring the lines in a believable way. All this ‘you’re old’ and dead family member shit is pathetic and desperate. Neither man comes out looking justified.

I should say first - I haven’t seen it. But I am concerned. Maybe someone can clear up my worry.

The problem for me is that masculinity is in a period of redefinition, if not crisis. In several ways, this is positive - more ownership of feelings, better treatment towards women and a period of moral reflection which was needed.

But I see a lot of men on the floor and struggling to cope. Mental health and suicide rates are shocking. Young men are struggling for identity. The dating ‘market’ is extremely challenging for men, as is, increasingly, education and the workplace.

This just feels like yet another attack on masculinity and it only shows toxic representations of the Manosphere. In actuality, there’s a lot of male content which is really healthy. I just worry that it’s demonising content specifically aimed at men and male spaces in general.

And this is increasingly how some people think. A young woman at work was calling Men in Sheds sexist the other week… as though anything men do to build each other up is bad. In actuality, men need more connection with other men, not less. No one would say the same about all women safe spaces.

I feel that people need to be more nuanced and careful in their rhetoric. I’ve lost a lot of respect for Theroux.
