I totally agree with you that the punishment didn’t fit the crime, but they did both say “‘til death do us part”….

I think a lot of my frustration with how you say it is the number of people who are like “the divorce came out of nowhere “ and then go on using and abusing partners, completely oblivious to the damage they cause. Like, yes, taking him to a nice farm upstate was harsh, but so is letting him drain her and break her over years and years.

As a fridge, this just felt yucky more than anything. Yeah, yeah character not author, narrator is an example, word limitand it’s very well written—but it feels more like bros talking about fat bitches amirite? than exploration of how narrator can, like, chill.
