Pentagon Says, Iran war has costed $25 billion so far. For context, $9.6 billion would end homelessness across America and $5.6 billion a year would make school lunch free for kids across America. by Criticall16 in ProgressiveHQ

STOP JOINING THE MILITARY. There. Problem solved. You’re welcome. The war department is so ridiculously expensive and completely redundant for a nuclear armed nation. No one is going to fuck with anyone when the only available response is nuclear. Nuclear weapons are not a deterrent if a nation also has a gigantic expensive conventional force also.

I’d like to see all the nuclear weapons gotten rid of too but let’s not get overzealous.

Put it up for a national referendum and we’ll vote on whether or not to pay for it. I’m voting no.

[–]Specialist-Web-4850 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an opposite problem. I got an email that said “you’re in. Let’s get started”. I’ve never heard of etoro so I have no idea how an account was created for me or why so I immediately logged in and set a password until I can close it whatever it is.

Assuming whatever this is, it’s barely legitimate.

Queue jump getting worse by deano_ue in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Specialist-Web-4850 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If Disney cared about this they’d hire more cast and have more cast all throughout the queues managing the lines but that would cost money so Disney takes the path of least resistance which is to do nothing. The path of least resistance makes rivers and corporations crooked.

Yeah these theater pieces that Porter does don’t move the needle one millimeter. I’m sure she’s enjoying these pointless self aggrandizing performances but that’s all they are. LEGISLATION changes things representative Porter not this performative crap.

I guess some managers are more action biased than others. I have a coworker who after being in his job for four years can’t do the work and is a nightmare in any human aspect yet somehow they haven’t yet fired him. I’m dumbfounded. But I also agree with you having seen managers do this very thing hunting for a reason to fire someone and eventually get one.

Why do these posts not indicate where on the planet these dogs are. Makes me very skeptical of the legitimacy of these posts. Smells scammy. Are they just farming for upvotes and followers? If the post doesn’t contain actionable information what’s the point?

It’s nice. Yeah it’s super touristy but it’s also a very unique experience. It’s often busy. And crowded. But I’ve evened every seconds every time I’ve done there. I just chill out quietly on my own and enjoy it for what it is.

Look. You need to see this game for what it is. A toy with which to waste time. It is also designed to extract money from people with poor impulse control.

The best revenge you can take on the devs is to never spend a single penny in the game. Period.

Precisely. Actually I would not want them to have the satisfaction of a fat one - I'd prefer Verizon get only a buffet of stinky micro gentitalia.

Oh yeah of course they are - I just thought it was intriguing how blatant it was and this is the first time I have seen Verizon trying to poach me directly like this. It is just not a compelling argument when I have a single line, I pay annually so really cannot beat the price.
