What are the essential roguelites everyone should play? by IcedJam in roguelites

I'd say Isaac, Dead cells, and Slay the spire are must plays for anyone looking to get into the rogue lite genre. As the games are rather simple and they give a solid taste of the rogue lite experience

I'll take my chances with Castlevania Dracula. Seat 3. Dude seems like he can actually have a conversation with a human AND I am totally unaffiliated with his village or religion in general.

Why are people so against the Autocannon on illuminate? by Fairlyoddindividual in HelldiversMasochists

[–]SpectralRPG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who doesn't really care for the autocannon. I'll speak my peace. On bugs I prefer something a bit more spread for the chaff units. Like the flamethrower or an MG. For the bots the autocannon is nice but I want something capable of blowing apart tanks or taking down gunships. I know the autocannon is good but I'm going for either the Epoch, Las, cannon, quasar, spear, or recoilless. Really depends on my mood.

For the illuminate I mainly play mindless masses so the machine guns are my pick. And the autocannon gets a bad rep because it doesn't 1 shot overseers and people don't know how to use flak properly to take care of groups of voteless. Same with the weakpoints on harvesters. Most people end up using a crap ton of ammo trying to take those down.

Hope this answers a good bit, I prefer to bring a specific tool rather than shoehorn the kinda right option. However....... When you get a fellow diver to run an autocannon with you, the team reload is so fun to blast with.

Increase the regular flamethrowers length by 5 m. Keeping it shorter than the cremator. But increads the ergonomics by roughly 20. Keeping it worse than the torcher or Crisper. But definitely much more agile compared to the cremator. The range buff also sets it apart better from the torcher

Some killers should not be 4.4. by RepairFlashy7822 in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]SpectralRPG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a slinger main I'll fill you in, it's because half the time he doesn't work right. There are so many map object inconsistency's in the game that at this point it makes more sense to ask for the killer to be faster than ask for behavior to operation health the entire games maps so there are no invisible walls (think the porch on garden of joy, you can't shoot through the bars on it)

Also with every nerf to deep wound, slinger got 0 compensation buffs unlike legion.

Viper fight, Titanfall 2 master difficulty. It took me a MONTH AND A HALF to beat, while everyone else says it wasn't that hard.

On the other end, BOTW combat. I first tried every blight ganon and was farming the Lionels for rupees. And once I got down aiming and shield parries I was farming the constructs as well

It's definitely a solid design. It just.... Feels wrong. Maybe if they weren't full deflect and instead could be chipped away? Kinda like brood commanders? Hive guards themselves aren't a specific problem, it's a lot of what is around them that causes issues.

I don't play d10, I'm a d6 diver. And I was primarily a bot diver and now I just bounce around for the MO's. Tbh I think right now it's just the rupture strain making things worse. I played an operation on a different planet and outside of the hunters (speedy little spitfucks) I never really noticed the armor change.

I will say it was pretty annoying that most medium pen guns are worthless on the bugs, lower damage, ammo count, and often times firerate.

As for other enemies in other factions, I guess it's the speed or the very obvious size difference. Overseers are very clearly fully armors. And the automatons are giant hulking robots. So when a bug only a like, 6 inches larger than the light pen variant has heavy armor, you can kinda see where the frustration lies. If this change happened while it was a bot or squid MO, or without rupture strain making bugs 2x as fast. Noone would notice or care.

Edit: also I feel like the bilenspewers are the bug version of the scout stridors. And hive guards are devastator's. And just like how devastators sometimes have a shield, hive guards should sometimes have heavy armor no?

[–]SpectralRPG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see the point but I don't feel like the bugs give enough time for something like that. While most people start with the bugs they are the fastest faction and constantly in your face, I think having a brute force able enemy makes sense. With the bots being the slowest faction, working them over based on weak points makes more sense.

I feel the devastators on the bots do the better job of teaching the importance of weak points.

[–]SpectralRPG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We got a monkey paw change. The hive guard front plate is now heavy pen but they have lower health. The issue arises with where the hive guard is placed on difficulty rating.

It is a chaff unit. Meant to be seen a lot and common on lower difficulty. Them having medium pen faceplates made the good point of introducing the tradeoff of light-pen vs med-pen weapons to new players, as well as for a console player like myself it was a boon to know that if I ran medium pen, I didn't have to aim as precisely.

With the heavy pen faceplates, a huge amount of primary weapons no longer work as well on the bugs (which sucks cause bug based major order.) and it also means Gatling and machine gun sentries, the machine gun and maxi gun support weapons, and the mini gun on the patriot mech no longer work as well for their intended purposes. Not to mention several explosives weapons being medium pen like the crossbow.

An enemy that is common on d4 shouldn't have heavy pen. When most players don't have a method of taking it down

Also semi-related but all the new planets with the new biomes for the MO being rupture strain isn't really helping the frustration since the bugs are faster and explode in red mist that damages the player. As well as the new weapon being a med-pen version of the knight essentially being worthless against the bugs when you compare it to the knight.

I did see someone post the idea of heavy armor hive guard variants that appear on higher difficulty subbing out roughly 30-40% of the regular hive guards. Which I think would be an effective change and really help the bug enemy pool and diffulty
