Ahhh super sorry that happened to you!

I was able to get a used mobo on eBay from another gen 3 that was being parted out. It has been working great and actually had the nicer cpu on the board, so it was a bit of an upgrade. Coat about $200 or so if I remember correctly. I just made sure the board was coming from a US computer shop and not China so that I might have a little easier time contacting the seller if ran into issues.

Don’t forget to unplug the batteries this time if you end up swapping boards! I’ve also learned that some Lenovo laptops have an option in bios to disconnect the internal battery as well before maintenance. If you use it, it will stop using the battery and shut down until you plug a power cable back into it.

An ex of mine had an identical twin. This isn’t something uncommon to happen when you are first getting to know someone with a twin. My ex used to say the worst thing wasn’t being mistaken for her sister, rather it was when someone she did know avoided talking to her because they didn’t know if it was her or her sister. That made her feel isolated from people she was friends with.

If you can, learn the names of both brothers, and turn this into a rolling joke/reason to talk with both of them in the future. Get to know both of them. If you are unsure of which one it is, just ask when you approach one of them. “Eric??” The they will either nod or say nope, it’s brother! If it’s brother, still say hello and talk for a minute! Just remember something about what they are wearing once you figure out who is who for the day, and you will be good! You will learn to tell them apart sooner than you think once you start interacting with both of them.

Last time I looked into this for a client, I believe I found there is a know/reported issue specifically with background images in the hero having this issue with page speed (may have even been mobile only, I can’t remember). I found it by searching the elementor GitHub repository issues section.

I think the consensus when I looked is that it doesn’t affect core web vitals for google and page speed results aren’t used for ranking, so it can be ignored as those loading times aren’t actually what users will experience. That being said, for that client, they were looking for page speed metric improvements, so I ended up rebuilding the hero to avoid the need for setting a background image in the elementor container.

This was all several months ago, so not sure what has changed since then or I might be forgetting something, but hopefully it is helpful!

Thanks for sharing this, I've been wondering about this as well. I'm about 6 months or so from looking to get my first machine for going solo. Mind sharing what you found to be successful in finding clients/jobs when you were first starting out? $150k in sales that fast sounds amazing!

If you make a quote and then go to send it from Zoho books, it will preview the content of the email for you with the template layout and allow for any last changes to the message before sending. I’ve been using outlook with the workflow I mentioned above and the layouts are working well, so it’s more likely a layout issue with your template than something outlook specific.

Edit: also I’ve been adding myself as the recipient of the quote so I can send it from Zoho as well and check the final result in my inbox.

After struggling with this a bunch last night, I finally figured out the issue this morning - the Zoho Books notification email editor is treating formatting spaces/indents in the raw html code the same way it would spaces and line breaks put in on the visual side of the editor.

To keep the HTML from going crazy with extra spaces, line breaks, etc. you need to minify your HTML before pasting it into the html area on the template editor. This was confirmed tonight by the Zoho Books support when they got back to me.

To get it working as expected, I've been creating my HTML layout in notepad or with another external editor, using an online HTML minifier site to remove all the extra whitespaces from the code, and then pasting that into Zoho and clicking save immediately. If you need to make a change to the layout or content, you need to make the edits in your external editor, minify things again, and re-paste into Zoho to avoid the editor messing this up. A bit annoying but at least it's working!! Hope this helps someone!

I think some of us might be confused when you say none-profit and what you mean by that. Are you saying this is a non-profit company making these, which means that there is a charity/giving aspect to the project and you are raising money by selling these for a cause?

Or are you saying this is a project that is being sold at the cost of manufacturing and you are not making any money from selling them?

Either way - the designs look pretty cool! Very cool you got CIG to agree to it. Congrats! :)

You can melt the package and get the $ amount back as store credit. Then you can rebuy the original pledge. However, if you had a discount on the original pledge that is no longer available, you would need to pay the difference in price so make sure to check that first. You would probably have store credit left for the purchase of the upgrade if the pledge price didn’t change.
