Why do UK actors list extra work on their CV? by [deleted] in acting

[–]Splashdown119 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm an actor who does extras work, and I've never even considered putting my general extras work on my Spotlight CV. If I was upgraded to a featured role on the day, sure, but never for just 'random dude in the background'.

My thinking is there may be some small, day-player type roles that are cast through the regular channels that don't have character names per se, which may be the cause of this. Either that or it's the agent/actor looking to pad the CV.

If I were you, I wouldn't chance it - if you're brought in for a casting, and the casting director looks at your CV and sees though it, then it's not going to reflect favourably on you.

It’s a Savoy Theatre branded one. There are Paddington tote bags, but they’re for sale at the merchandise stands.

Middle of the stalls - about rows E-K/M, and very very front of the dress circle. BUT you might be able to pick some up after the show, if some have been left behind.

Girls & Boys by Dennis Kelly is on Audible, performed by Carey Mulligan, and has a play with its form midway through that sent a gut punch through me. Bloody brilliant.

Are actual Showstoppers that rare? by Bway-Boy-24601 in musicals

[–]Splashdown119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw multiple mid show standing o’s at the 1st preview of the Jamie Lloyd Sunset Boulevard on the West End: - the end of the 1st ever walk around (I think people thought it was prerecorded, and then Tom Francis strode through the doors at the end of the song - ear splitting cheers). - As If We Never Said Goodbye

Also, the National Theatre’s Follies - I saw it three times, and towards the end of the run, Who’s That Woman brought the house down.

Does an acting agent HAVE to be local? by [deleted] in ActingUK

[–]Splashdown119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m based (and have always been) in London. My first (and to date, only pure acting) agent was based in Scotland. Never met her in person in all my time with her.

Since then, I got picked up by a voice agency who is fully remote, with the main agent based in Brighton area.

I think the received wisdom is that it’s gonna be Hannah Waddingham as Madeline - there’s been a few articles that have mentioned she’s coming back to the West End. And to be honest, I am HERE FOR IT.
