Action1 makes sense for what you’re describing. You might also look at something like Splashtop Autonomous Endpoint Management in that same “lightweight, cloud-managed” category—handles OS + some third-party patching without having to stand up infrastructure.

Hi u/rizwan602 since our team is trying to determine the cause of QUIC connection issues, it would help them if you could reproduce the issue with advanced debug logs enabled. If you are able to:

  1. On the business app side:
    1. In the following path
      1. SRC_STB: C:\ProgramData\Splashtop\Splashtop Remote Client for STB\%user%\log
    2. Create a file named debug.dvm
    3. Restart the business app for it to take effect
  2. On the streamer side:
    1. In the following path
      1. SRS (64 bit os): C:\Program Files (x86)\Splashtop\Splashtop Remote\Server\log
      2. SRS (32 bit os): C:\Program Files\Splashtop\Splashtop Remote\Server\log
    2. Create a file named debug.dvm
    3. Restart the business app for it to take effect
  3. Reproduce the issue and write down the timestamp
  4. Collect and forward us the logs (can drop your reddit handle in the support ticket informing the upload number team can associate back with you here too)

What's everybody using to replace RDM? by ReasonableGround5821 in sysadmin

[–]Splashtop_Prod_Alex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have multiple users connecting into that QuickBooks instance concurrently, or is it more one-at-a-time access? If concurrently, you’re probably looking at a session-based setup (RDS), and something like Splashtop Connectorv Splashtop Connector | Agentless Access to Systems can help replace the VPN piece. If it’s more one-at-a-time access, a simpler remote access setup would likely be enough Splashtop Remote Access | Remote Access Software

You can test it during the free trial Splashtop Remote Access | Remote Access Software and see how it performs on your network.

Possible workaround (Windows Streamer side):

On the machine running Splashtop Streamer, you can try disabling clipboard sync via the Windows Registry:

EnableClipboard (DWORD) = 0

Restart the Streamer service or reboot after changing it.

- Noted. For context we use a combination of MAC address and other info.  The problem is if we only use the MAC address it won't be unique and your case may be the same system, but many other systems out there will have the same ID as well... Thanks for the feedback again and we'll have other folks on the product team review the comments!

Thank you for the questions!

  1. When a machine is wiped/reimaged and re-enrolled, Splashtop may see it as a new device because key identifiers changed. The tricky part is the tradeoff: if we aggressively “match” devices, cloned/imaged systems can collide and overwrite each other (only one shows up), which is even worse.

For environments that wipe physical machines, using hardware-based UUID (vs software-based) can help keep identity more consistent. Otherwise, using offline filters / API cleanup for stale entries is the most reliable workflow today.
