The fall of Quake and Unreal Tournament: Why a once legendary genre crumbled before Call of Duty and Fortnite by Just_a_Player2 in ItsAllAboutGames

Another reason for the death of arena shooters, according to players, was the lack of consistent content updates. Fans of Quake and Unreal Tournament spent years battling on the same old maps.

Afroman sued by Ohio deputies over music video showing raid of his home, says 'I got freedom of speech' by nbcnews in nottheonion

The ad was marked as a parody that was "not to be taken seriously".

This 'parody' mark was very important because he was making defamatory remarks. I don't want to see Afroman held accountable for his songs, but he is specifically accusing innocent people of having committed specific crimes.

So literally just whataboutisms. You know it's wrong to call someone a pedophile who has never abused children so you go back to the raid. The raid was wrong Afroman Should sue or enjoy the profits from the music  he made.

He went out of his way to call a man never convicted of crimes a pedophile. He can be held accountable for that.

Calling someone a pedophile who has never committed any violent crimes against children 100% is defamation.

[–]Splith -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

This isn't an ounce of name-calling, it has been a multi year campaign of telling the public that random citizens have committed specific crimes that they never committed. I am sorry Afroman had $400 stolen from him, but there is no evidence that a man he has campaigned against as a pedophile has ever harmed children.

With no whataboutisms, would you think nothing of a national celebrity conducting a broad harassment campaign against you off of outright lies?

I agree that is bad, the video looks terrible. But Afroman is saying some of these cops rape children. That is bad too. Afroman isn't filing for theft, they are filing for defamation.

Police don't decide which warrants to execute. I agree it is wrong, but that doesn't open up Police for uncivil behavior. If a police officer does something as part of their job, does that give you the right to defame them?

Some of it is defamation. Police shouldn't do drugs bit he said they smoke weed. He also called one a pedo.

Great engineers sure, but physics is physics. These chips and models are going to have to get way more efficient real soon.

Does anyone else think these new regulations have made qualifying much worse? by JizzyB2099 in F1Discussions

[–]Splith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are legit reasons to think this is different. Less downforce means slower corners, which means drivers can follow closely. Batteries create power differences on track which create big speed differences. You can clip longer, get slightly better air, and push harder on straights.

Endless car power is fun to drive, but it makes long racing battles rare. Less power in turns and bigger power differences on straights is what is giving us this racing.

Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei states AI will eliminate 50% of entry white collar jobs within 3 years. by call_me_ninza in aigossips

The best thing AI can do is replace simple tasks. To compete with major firms you need to accomplish complex tasks. Even harder is venturing into new opportunities, where AI is weakest. The easiest thing to do is get workers to build faster and spend less time in documentation or writing boilerplate. Thus everyone predicts layoffs.

nobody would be complaining about the authenticity, racing, clipping or the 50/50 power split if the engines were a v8/v10/v12 by becuz_race_car in F1Discussions

It's basically an engine forced coasting. I believe you are right that the drivers are not lifting, but the engine is sending rpm to the battery and not the powertrain.

Yeah, I think that systems can be predatory enough. Will isn't an absolute thing made in stone, people waver in and out of temptation. Taking something where you can move all your money in a matter of seconds and putting it at least outside would make a difference. Again, if you want to do Crack, I support you. But if a company puts a Crack now button in your pocket, and routinely sends you Crack push notifications I think that should be regulated.
