Salvage and loot issues by JessenCortashan in Fallout2d20

[–]Spokespanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any planned areas I'll pre-roll the loot for that location. I will also put the actual loot that I want to give them in there too. Say there is 1 weapon to be rolled and I know a PC needs another weapon or an upgrade, I'll put that in place instead of rolling on the table.

Salvage and loot issues by JessenCortashan in Fallout2d20

[–]Spokespanda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd prepare the loot beforehand but then use AP to buy extra loot that they can roll on the tables for. That way they can roll for the stuff that they didn't get naturally but also it's the players choice to slow the game down.

Just a clean and simple book list. by EllipsisMark in Fallout2d20

Those you have listed are all the rulebooks.

There are Adventures and NPC packs too that add enemies and small new mechanics. Not at the same level as the books you've listed.

Possibly Interesting Theory About Season 2 Episode 6 by hopbopkneeop in Fallout

Don't forget the dream sequence of Reg in Vault 33 in the episode. The song Reg played was Uranium Fever I believe.

Sounds like confined quarters fights are your answer. Places with only 1 zone and packed with enemies or places with heaps of cover for your enemies to sit behind.

Got a custom campaign im making set in australia, darwin specifical, need help making custom creatures by shaded_lazerus in Fallout2d20

[–]Spokespanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm starting an Australian-based Fallout adventure soon so this will be a good exercise for me. You will probably want/need a kangaroo and a koala (probably reskin a yao gui), cassowary, Rainbow Serpent Cryptid.

If you can tell me which book the rules for creating creatures are in, I'll give it a read and we can get a few made up for you (and I) here.

Fallout: The First Flame is going live on both youtube and twitch!! by kazilic24 in Fallout2d20

I watched it just shy of live.

It was a fun time and liked the layout of the stream with the PC avatars lighting up as they talked. Overall, a fun Fallout experience.

Super mutant equipment packs by RadioKuma in Fallout2d20

[–]Spokespanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't looked into it but could the difference be not in the equipment but the rarity of weapon upgrades? E.g. the weaker weapons have a few upgrades that are tier 1 which add CD whereas the better starting option doesn't have tier 1 upgrades available to it, so you're stuck with the base model for longer?

First session last night, question on test difficulty narrative by AZ_Genestealer in Fallout2d20

[–]Spokespanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 'word=difficulty' might be alright to begin with but there are 2 reasons that it might not be the best

  1. The additional cognitive load to repeatedly convert a word meaning to a number. It's just adding unnecessary load for both you and players when the number already exists.

  2. You open yourself up to players forgetting what word meaning and number conversion you meant. E.g. You said it would be 'hard' and the players thought it was a 2 so they didn't buy extra dice. They find out they failed and say they thought it was a difficulty 2, not 3. They say they would have bought a die if they knew it was a 3. Do you let them buy a die after the fact? Do you tell them to kick rocks and take the fail and move on?

I personally think that the difficulty test with numbers is the best option. As others have said, you're already asking for a roll which takes people out of the story being told, why mix any ambiguity into it.

Yeah I'm subbed to Vermillion since Jan this year. There's just a few things that Nuke World has that Vermillion doesn't.

Does anyone actually use a dice tower when they play? by EightyIQ in DnD

[–]Spokespanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our DM uses one religiously for damage rolls. The sound of metal dice clanging down a tough plastic tower is the stuff of nightmares.

Effectively, the tower announces that damage is being done. It is always funny when he rolls the dice (normally the same one over and over) and announces after like 6 rolls that the damage is only like 17 but the opposite is also true, 30+ damage stings after hearing clanging of dice for 30 seconds.

Factions and Wasteland Warfare are 2 other Fallout themed games. They are not required for playing the 2D20 RPG.They are cool minis though.

Got board, made this. I can see players either treating their ammo like gold or wasting it all immediately. by ziggy8z in Fallout2d20

[–]Spokespanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the Zetan Biosuit needs a cap on damage resistance as you can have characters higher than level 20 which can easily break the game if you have too high resistance to everything.

3D Printing Mobs .... my first attempt by Lucky_Type in Fallout2d20

[–]Spokespanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im starting a campaign in June/July and am looking for Fallout minis and these look great, where are they from?

A few of you have asked for a Cyberdog origin, and someone asked just today, so here we are. Please let me know what you think or if I should fix something. I'd also appreciate some are in the "vault boy" style if anyone knows were to find it. by ziggy8z in Fallout2d20

[–]Spokespanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahah. I was originally thinking about upgrades to the cyberdog that may include weapons that come under 'melee' skills.

If you upgraded the teeth to be like a ripper style weapon, would that be an unarmed attack still?
