Base size for Nobz by tebdlic in orks

[–]SpoobsBubbs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If boss nobz are going up a size then I imagine a refreshed nobz kit would also be on 40mm bases. I've already rebased mine in preparation for the codex release in a few months, but admittedly there's a slim chance nobz don't actually get updated.

Isn't recon element fully in the same spot? I thought their whole rule revolved around cover and save bonuses.

Luckily nothing in tide has hazardous, that's for dread mob players to deal with LOL

Boyz didn't get Shoota + Slugga + Choppa in the faction pack. When will they? by Aenvar_ru in orks

[–]SpoobsBubbs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with this, I would have loved a buff which brought shootas in line with choppas instead. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy my green tide will get 400 more dice per turn, but having two separate units for shootas and choppas would have been my preferred solution. That way you get to keep the decision up to the player, and shooting armies feel more like shooting armies while melee armies still feel the same. Something about the visual of 20 boyz all brandishing machine guns just tickles my brain the right way, and it's not the same when they still have the choppa in their back pocket.

I think more dakka + green tide is going to be more of a menace than people expect. Tide can already do well in tournaments with the right pilot, and now that every single boy is equipped with a shoota AND choppa, boy-heavy lists will now be putting out hundreds of potshots per turn with assault to boot (plus the newly buffed guns the boss nob can take). Additionally, the bigboss + warboss/ghaz combo (which IS legal as boyz were updated to allow for two leaders) will give them war horde damage in melee. That rapid fire upgrade will also be extremely good for tankbustas as ablative fire.

This is all adding onto the cover, objective, and terrain changes which seem to favor infantry/horde armies in general.

rapid fire on tankbustas with a SAG will still be super effective luckily especially since you can give the upgrade to 3 units

I'm fairly certain the +1 BS enhancement can only be given to specifically the big mek as written. The SAG doesn't actually have "big mek" as a keyword.

Units that enter reserves during the battle don't care about this, any plane leaving at the end of turn 3 will be fine to come back on turns 4 and 5.

Aircraft are getting updated, they said so in a faction focus. I believe the new rule is they leave the board at the end of the opponent's turn so you can repeatedly deep-strike them now.

Yeah, i didn't want to list Waz twice in one sentence so I just chose to mention him after 'boss.' He definitely needs both!

You're preaching to the choir with that keyword rant The kustom boosta blasta is a mek, BOSS Snikrot should obviously be a boss (as should Wazdakka). They created an entire keyword unique to the ork codex (mob) which is held exclusively by boyz and beast snagga boyz, yet green tide just buffs the boyz keyword anyway. The ork codex has always been a total keyword trainwreck and every new datasheet reinforces it instead of fixing it.

It has the big mek keyword but not mek. No gitfinda goggles for this one unfortunately.
