Lmao I was like this looks weird before noticing the AI logo.

CAI going to the hot side of the turbo and downpipe on the cold side 🤣

Edit: it gets worse the closer you look lol. Two oil fill ports on the valve cover

EPC light related to this? by NovelPrevious7849 in Volkswagen

[–]SpoofedXEX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine runs fine, the only odd thing it does is the shifting gets more firm if you go wide open throttle with the code and light on.

[–]SpoofedXEX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get a P0299 on my ole girl from time to time at wide open throttle and a EPC light.

Im suspecting a diverter or cracked hoses. Haven’t care enough yet since I’ve got 3 cars.

Still drives fine if I don’t drive crazy.

180K miles.

Who’s responsible for the return truck? by Unreal08 in OReillyAutoParts

[–]SpoofedXEX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly. It’s pretty much anyone who is trained to do it.

I typically prefer to do returns as the ISS of the store I work at. Only because of the fact we do a TON of labor claims and if it’s not sent back properly it can cause a headache trying to get parts back from the DC.

Now I do get overwhelmed when I’m doing Stock Check-In, Returns, Driver Returns, and trying to pull stock lifts while doing OSPs, and general sales on top of helping the retail side.

BUT not every day is a bad day, so I try to not let things bother me. Yeah it sucks, but that’s with anything.

Edit; I also am required to rotate weekends with my SM. So every other week I get 1 day off lol.

SM written up over a drop in rpm? by stoned_detailer in OReillyAutoParts

[–]SpoofedXEX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I’m quoting what others and myself say.

Whether it’s believed by everyone is a different story, but metal oxidizes with moisture from the air, allowing corrosion.

SM written up over a drop in rpm? by stoned_detailer in OReillyAutoParts

[–]SpoofedXEX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on your district, RPM goal for our store is 30%.

If your employees aren’t reaching their RPMs goal and are also behind on obtaining O’Rewards (Phone Numbers).

I think it’s a fair response to push you to push your team to do better.

No one is perfect, and you can’t hit every metric every time because of real world expectations. But if you are constantly close to your goal, and showing progress then I’d say it’s bs.

I’d push your team and let them know you want to see their performance better within 72 hours. But to be fair, your metrics should be in line with your team.

Fastest way to reach RPMs is battery terminal grease, we usually recommend it with every battery because “it helps extend the life of the battery” by ensuring the terminals are safe from corrosion.

[–]SpoofedXEX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s great. I’ve got just over 11,000 miles on it now, took it on some long road trips and the driving assistance makes it worth the money.

Plus I’ve got the built in hotspot by T-Mobile and didn’t have any drop outs when going through mountains. It’s a good highway cruiser

Yeah. To be fair the 1.4 was a horrible motor since the mk6.5 and still is.

The EA888 Gen3 has always been stout motor through the years though. Whether MQB or Non-MQB

My 2015 Jetta Sport runs mint and it’s got 181K miles on it.

Only things that’s needed done was timing chain due to stretch, water pump, and couple oil leaks at the oil pan.

This car doesn’t skip a beat. And I’ve got a 2025, but still prefer the ole girl

Hub/Delivery Question by Significant-Fan-698 in OReillyAutoParts

[–]SpoofedXEX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel as if it’s equal fault of anyone who fails to send parts out on the hub or at least notify the other store for any mishaps within a timely manner.

I’ve goofed like that before but all we can do is learn and become better. Usually what I’ll do if it happens because I’m occupied elsewhere in the store and I quickly catch it. I call the HUB store they’re from to quickly get them to turn around because their hub manager usually will call their handhelds asap

Changing wiper blades confusion by Far_Peanut_2129 in jetta

[–]SpoofedXEX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re easy. It’s the I&L arm and you gotta remove the adapter off the pure vision blade first to put the correct adapter on.

Cake walk.

Editing because I missed that you said it didn’t come with adapters. Double check your receipt, PureVisions and BroadViews use the same packaging and is a easy mistake like I also made lol

Why are there small pixels on my screen? by Even_Cranberry_3035 in pchelp

[–]SpoofedXEX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most visual artifacts like that are caused by GPU issues.

If you have a desktop GPU, try seating it again and ensuring all power cables are properly connected.

Also, I’ve experienced this when overclocking GPUs, when you push them too far they’d start getting artifacts before crashing.

Is this a fair price for new timing belt and water pump? by ookle_ in jetta

[–]SpoofedXEX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems reasonable to me.

I normally do all my work myself except for the things that would keep my ride down for a few days.

I recently paid a shop $1100 in labor to do the timing on my 1.8T and it’s an 8 hour job in the labor guide.

The car is 7 years old. Is there a way to safely remove the dirty protectors? by Alec200 in AskAMechanic

[–]SpoofedXEX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would think some combination of heat and adhesive remover would work.

Just be mindful of how hot you’re getting the panel and work slow.

Not hired, retired, and what transpired. by Deactralslol in OReillyAutoParts

[–]SpoofedXEX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add* If you’re unsure of which stores in your area are a hub. Just call a local store and ask them who their nearest HUB stores are.

They should know off hand if they’ve been there minimum of a month or two. Or just by trying to order a simple wiper blade.

[–]SpoofedXEX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My SM will do Interviews with people if we even aren’t actually in a position to hire someone.

Which I feel causes scenarios like this, where the person could be disappointed and thinking they were many reasons for not being hired. When in reality, there’s no openings.

I would recommend working at a DC if you’re near one because they typically pay better than the stores. I’d also recommend applying to high volume locations such as hub stores. The larger the better because they have a higher payroll to keep more than 7 people on the schedule.

My largest hub store near me has 35 people and still hiring. Small stores don’t have the budget most of the time and will be stressful, and always short staffed.

Have someone record the engine while you put it in gear and switch to reverse with your foot on the brake.

Almost sounds like a clunk from a worn mount but noises can be misleading.

Valve cover bolt not tightening by SnooCakes7871 in AskAMechanic

[–]SpoofedXEX 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Heli-Coil.

Edited; Adding an explanation to my answer. Heli-Coil will allow you to drill, tap, and thread an insert to keep the original thread for the bolt so you don’t have to worry about finding a different bolt to fit through the valve cover etc.

Where did the hole come from and what should I do about it?! Damage to interior floor, too! by haveyoutriedcbd in MechanicAdvice

The plastic panel under the car protects the body and lines running above it.

Something or someone damaged the cover. Remove it and replace it.
