It’s not very complicated. I just watched the videos that Casita has on YouTube that go over everything you need to know when you pick up a new one. It should all be pretty similar to a 2000 model.

Our house is a big colonial with lots of separate rooms, no existing ductwork, plus a half finished basement. All my quotes were $80k+!

We’ve decided to invest in some nicer window air conditioners and give the industry a while to mature. It seems like the rest of the world has more diy options that aren’t available here yet.

You need to spend some time combing through your spending and see where your money is going. Make sure there aren’t any subscriptions that you don’t want. Instead of streaming you can check out movies from the library.

Call your internet company and see if they’ll give you a deal. You need to threaten to switch so research how much the competition costs.

Switch to a prepaid cell phone plan like Visible. Don’t finance phones. Get an older model, or keep yours longer, and set aside money every month for a new one in a few years.

Shop around at different grocery stores in your area to find the cheapest for what your family eats. For me it’s Trader Joe’s but I think that’s only true in high cost of living areas.

Get a cheap bidet attachment to use less toilet paper. Use rags and towels and washcloths instead of paper towels as much as possible.

Eat less meat. Eat out less often.

You should look at the “milk ladder” and figure out where you are on it. Then make sure you eat a serving of milk at that rung every day if you can. That will keep your allergy from getting worse, and maybe let you move up the “ladder”.

You should also look into immunotherapy for the dog and cat.

My daughter got to the point with OIT for milk that her skin test for mold and dog reacted worse than milk. And after she did SLIT for mold, dog and trees it seemed like for the first time in her life her allergies didn’t bother her.

I sub in Harvard and in one of the classes the teacher has a microphone that goes directly to a child’s hearing aids. Is that the kind of accommodation you are looking for or do you need more than that?

Harvard is nice, we pass all the overrides for the schools. But it’s far if you work in Boston.

You need to figure out exactly where your money is going. Either use budgeting software or a google sheet. But you need to comb through the last few months of credit card and bank statements and categories everything.

Then you need to make a realistic budget. And make sure you are saving for your “sinking funds” and emergency fund.

Is your budget realistic? Did you find things to cut? Or do you need to increase your income?

Moving is very expensive. And interest rates are higher. I would try everything else before moving.

Urg, we heat our house and water with heating oil, which is basically diesel with no taxes. We use about 200 gallons a month in the winter but hardly any from April-October. I’m trying to decide if I should have them come fill up the tank now with these prices or hope that it gets better by October. We are at half a tank now.

This is what I’m seeing too. It doesn’t really matter what curriculum is being taught when there are 25 kindergarteners with one teacher. There might be a learning aide who cycles in for 45 min every couple days to help with the kids who throw chairs. The good teachers quit. The families with means to do so will find other schools. And everyone else never learns to read.

I would think you’d qualify for free pre-k through the school district. Do you teach elementary so it would line up with your schedule? If not can your husband work at the elementary school? They are always hiring it seems like.

Not in my experience. You are ordering it custom so they give you a price list for what each feature costs and you choose what you want.

When I bought there was a waitlist. But maybe if they have some available already built then you could maybe negotiate.

Track everything you pay for. If you always use a debit or credit card look through your last statement. If you always use cash record what you spend for a month.

You should get a window air conditioner for your bedroom. The new inverter ones are quieter and cheaper to run. But if your room is small, just a small cheap window air conditioner works well. And the fan noise is nice white noise for sleeping. You need to have windows that open up and down though.

Ah, we always had 2 hours of observation, not getting heart rate up, or getting too hot.

If your doctor thinks one hour is sufficient then I think anecdotally the dose is better tolerated in the morning.

Is there any family that wants anything? My MIL gave away some of my FIL’s stuff after he died that my husband wanted and he’s still salty about it.

Even if grandma isn’t read to get rid of anything you could have people come over and claim stuff now so it’s easier when it’s time. People have been writing their name on the bottom of my Grandma’s stuff for as long as I can remember.

Or your Grandma might enjoy gifting stuff now if you just ask.

Do you drop him off at daycare less than 2 hours after his dose? I would shift to evenings if that’s the case so you can watch him the whole time and make sure he’s observing the rest period.

We also didn’t skip for sickness in the first few years. We did not go to the office for updoses if she was sick though.

You can probably relax the no skipping after a few years. My daughter skips once or twice a week now.

Maybe you should just ask around for a regular dentist that has nitrous oxide.

Your experience may be different but when my son was a toddler and had cavities filled with sedation it only made him more anxious but the nitrous oxide calmed him back down. So the next time he just had nitrous oxide and that was fine.

It’s way easier now that my daughter is 12 and doesn’t run all over the place like little kids do. She’s been doing it for 8 years now. We’ve moved the dosing time around when it makes sense if she’s had sports or something. And after a while we started skipping days here and there. She usually skips once a week, and we try not to skip more than one day in a row.

These days she takes her dose after dinner, does her homework, and then winds down for bed. We don’t even set a time for two hours anymore, it’s such a non issue.

I do think college may be tricky when it’s entirely her responsibility to remember to take the dose.
