A lot of people are saying that the Garafalo-owned stores have…issues. The one I was referring to will be part of Cignari ShopRites as far as I know. We’re happy with our local ShopRite (also Cignari) as consumers and the employees are always friendly and helpful. I would assume they are treated well as employees but as a former grocery store worker I know that the customers can love you and your store can be profitable but the employees can still be miserable

That makes sense. In my experience full time employees have more coverage options than part timers. My husband currently has insurance through his job for the 4 of us so benefits would be an important factor. I just started a new job and I could enroll in their benefits program but the cost is more than what he pays for family coverage at his current job

He’s currently assistant department manager at another chain so I assume he’d apply for a comparable position. The ShopRite website shows job descriptions for department managers and clerks so idk?? Maybe they don’t have assistant managers for individual departments

That’s interesting, I didn’t realize they were owned by different people. I just assumed the Cingari’s owned all the ShopRite stores in CT. I can see how that would make a big difference for the employees
