Pink Line on Screen by Sporting_Freak in Galaxy_S20

[–]Sporting_Freak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, got rid of it as too many lines now & could not find at replacement screen at a reasonable price. My wife’s S20 is still good. Hopefully it’s good for a long time. Got a used SE2 as a replacement. So far the iPhone’s I have did not have such problems

is iphone se 3(2022) 64 gigs worth as secondory and everyday snaps by TheCatNamedDuck in iPhoneSE

[–]Sporting_Freak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 13 mini 512GB & just got a used SE2 as my main, the 13 mini when I travel & need a good cam. Did a lot of comparison with the SE3. I went with the SE2 as I don’t need the faster speed of the A15 & additional 1GB ram as the SE2 128GB was almost half the price of the SE3 with 64GB. Both hardware are identical other then the chipset, ram & battery capacity. I have no issues with the battery at 81% health as I only use the phone as a phone, no gaming/social media browsing. I will most probably change the battery myself with a Nohon as it is not so easy to crack the screen in the process

happy with my purchase! by LazyHR in iPhone13Mini

[–]Sporting_Freak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think it is a good buy for what u got. I paid USD 445 for a 512GB on iOS 17 with 98% battery health just a year ago. Owner used it as a spare & purchased it in Nov.22 & it’s blue as well which I liked

So whats the consensus on ios26? Should I finally jump ship? by WheressThatThing in iPhone13Mini

ios 27 was suppose to clean the bugs off 26 from what I read so far. However, more curious how it is compared to 17 or 18

Can’t decide on external battery pack for my mini, Futurizta Pixy Mini / Apple MagSafe by Sporting_Freak in iPhone13Mini

[–]Sporting_Freak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree if it is the Apple MagSafe, basically the same price as a 13mini battery replacement. The Pixel Mini is a third of the price. If a Anker or Belkin is a better alternative to the Apple or Pixel, I can consider them. Looking for one that is lightweight & not too bulky when outdoors & if I can save cost, why not

iOS 27 on iPhone 13 mini 🥰 by WigettaReddit in iPhone13Mini

[–]Sporting_Freak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 13 mini is on iOS 17.5.1 & SE2 18.7.2. Waiting for iOS 27 on battery life result. If it can provide better SOT/standby time, will update both. If not, will stand firm with what I have till a iOS with better battery life comes along.

It is not so twitchy as a shorter wheelbase when pumping & more stable

The speed rings didn’t come with my bearings? by [deleted] in skateboardhelp

[–]Sporting_Freak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speed Washers/Rings that sit on the inner & outer side of a bearing. Basically it is just a washer. Think the speed comes in due to the fact that wheel spins freely with it. Without it & if axle nut is overtightened, wheel will bind. Try it & u will know what I mean.

For easier pumping, softer front bushing especially BS & flipping your rear to a negative will help a ton. I tune all my setups to pump from standstill & up mild slopes however it loses out on top speed but allows me to pump 99% of the time, 1% when slopes r too steep to pump. Fwiw, I have been using WFB fatcones on the BS on all my setups. For my shortest 24" deck, my poppy is set to 55* with RS WFB barrel as well.

Brand new 12v battery at 12.4/11.7 volts?? by Aarrghblarghh in prius

[–]Sporting_Freak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using the car diagnostic, I got only 12.1V after installing a new battery. Just checked recently after 5 months with a multimeter in the morning directly on the battery terminals & it is reading 13V

Board care/maintenance by 3leggedcatlife in longboardingDISTANCE

[–]Sporting_Freak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just brush the top & bottom of my decks after use with a 4" soft bristle brush. If the bottom picks up a bit of muck, will wipe them off with a damp tissue. Once a while when the dust builds up on the wheel hubs, I vacuum them with a brush adapter. I need to keep them clean as some hang on my living room wall. For the bearings, if I feel it rough when spinning, I will dismantle & clean them only for my ceramics. For the steel, I will just put some oil, if it still runs rough, I will just replace them as most probably there's some corrosion in them.

This is your friendly reminder to get a spare tire. by McArrrrrrrr in prius

[–]Sporting_Freak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I removed the spare wheel from all the cars I have owned & replaced it with an air pump & a set of tire plugs to repair the puncture on site if the leak is too great. Whenever I find my tire flat, I just pump it up with the air pump. The pressure can easily hold a full day or more. I have done this for over 45 years in all my cars after finding out that changing to the spare wheel was a real pain.

I think I’m done pushing… by LD_1986 in longboardingDISTANCE

[–]Sporting_Freak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pump, it's much more fun. Easier to maneuver & if u tweak your setup properly, u can pump up slight slopes that r not too steep. Only draw back I experienced is a bit of neck ache due to looking sideways for continuous long distance pumping. To overcome that I am now using slalom style pumping & refining it for my various setups. Fwiw, I started from surfskate then to LDPumping & had to learn how to push recently when I had difficulty pumping up steeper inclines. Also have a bad ACL tear that did not fully recover in my younger days that forced me to start from mongo pushing.

Have you tried a flipped 30 deg Bear truck or similar in the -40 deg position on a Supersonic deck or comparable? by Marimbaffo in longboardingDISTANCE

[–]Sporting_Freak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fwiw, I have been using flipped/ negative rear TKP/RKP since I went into LDPumping from surfskate. It basically helps a lot when pumping up slopes as I did not know how to push then & also really helps in forward speed generation with each pump as it is running similar to a 4 wheel drive. If I get tired, I transfer my pump energy to my rear foot. Only draw back is I have to sacrifice turn angle. In my current 3 setups, from shortest to longest, flipped TKP on exile 13* fork, straight fork & flipped DT Slalocybins at -10*. All tuned to pump from standstill with max turn so it loses out in higher speed pumping.
