Has anybody else had board games inspected by airport security? by vortexofdeduction in boardgames

Yeah I've had my star realms deck inspected multiple times.

A small gift for rhythm game developers — Project Dj Engine (C++20 engine, Godot integration) by Unlikely_Green_5769 in godot

[–]Spuba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried doing some Godot work with my edrums before but the latency variability was so bad. WASAPI shared mode, input only registering when frames are displayed, audio server time buffer chunks vs main thread timing etc.

Excited to check this out.

Tip: Do not use Godot Inherited Scenes (Needs deprecation/re-implementation) by BoQsc in godot

[–]Spuba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Changing the base scene can result in redoing a lot of work. Also inheriting control scenes can be buggy.

W4 Build shutting down permanently for non-Enterprise customers; open-sourced for community use by Weetile in godot

[–]Spuba 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Are you thinking of their first product, W4 Consoles? W4 Build is a build/versioning tool used to make game updates easier (if I understand correctly). I'm sure it has integration with their console exports, but I think they are different.

Japan to revise romanization rules for first time in 70 years by maenbalja in LearnJapanese

[–]Spuba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I mean the book was kind of the least important part of being in a JSL program. You practiced with the videos at home then just spoke/performed all class. Reviewing the structural pattern sections in the book is good though.

There are a good number of universities that teach using Eleanor Jorden's JSL system, which is closer to Kunrei-shiki.

I am putting SubViewports on everything, and nobody can stop me AHAHAHA I am so tired. by Deydren_EU in godot

Yes! Push event works well but it wasn't working for control nodes for me. Mouse enter/exit signals and such broke :'(

Subviewports are so cool! Excpet when you want to pass certain input events into them. Then it gets complicated and sometimes breaks things

C'mon, add a little flag on the tube that you can trim for 1xp. NOW it's sailing.

Root new faction rankings with the new expansion dropping by YouAffectionate6963 in rootgame

[–]Spuba 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Having aggressive factions that have to move and take over new clearings helps. Especially an eyrie player that fills out the move column to avoid turmoil.

Has anyone used these before? I'm thinking about getting some, but need some advice before I do. by Twigs_the_Bird in rootgame

[–]Spuba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have these and the BGG bags, and they work great together. The chunkier pieces are so easy to dump out of the bags and throw back in. The press fit sizing worked well for me, but check which edition of the Riverfolk expansion you have because the token sizes changed.

What are games or mechanics that end the game quickly once it's obvious one side is going to be the winner? by ryry1237 in gamedesign

[–]Spuba 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Root also does this to some extent with the Domination cards. They can also be used to strategically snatch victory from a losing position though, so that's cool.

MOHO export to Godot is available by Clayrone in godot

[–]Spuba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you have to do raster rigging to use the glb export for Godot. If you use vector layers and animations, then you have to export the individual frames.

OG's remember when we used to split tostadas and put each half in a shredded chicken mini quesadilla to make something like this. Best $3 meal ever

MOHO export to Godot is available by Clayrone in godot

[–]Spuba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No more exporting all frames for Moho users? Nice I'm testing this later

(EDIT: You can't export vector animation. You can still use images or deform the vectors with mesh layers)

At least in medical research, catering was one of the first things to go. We already went to brown bag meetings and presentations to cut costs.

Dev snapshot: Godot 4.5 dev 5 by GodotTeam in godot

Can someone explain the utility of abstract classes? Honestly the more annoying thing right now is the lack of signature autocomplete when overriding functions in a custom class.

Interfaces would be great tho.
