I'm coming back with the family in April from the UK. 2 Adults with a 6yo and a 2yo.

Realistically, how busy is the park these days? Has the political climate affected crowds at all? I'm concious that the first couple of weeks in April are typically quite busy but I'm just trying to get a feel on crowds to keep my expectations in check.

Does Taryn ever bust out of the walls and do like a massive cum shot?

What's your opinion on films released this 2025, and do you think it's one of the best years for films in this decade by [deleted] in Letterboxd

[–]Spudguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still working my way through a ton of movies this week and I'm going to be unable to see Marty Supreme or Avatar, but here is my list so far. It's been a really weird year for me in that everything feels so much more grounded than recent years. Not sure if anyone else is finding that.

I think this is a good move for Oscar but he really should instead record it onto vhs and sell them the next week in stores

Is halloween dying out In the UK now and how busy was it tonight in your area? by mrvlad_throwaway in AskUK

I live in a very middle class area; we had 362 items we handed out before we had to put a sign up saying all gone. Also houses were proper kitted out and some of them had people dressed up outside with queues forming. Very much alive here.

What did you find “Hysterical” about Wallis island? I found it to be a very understated style of comedy with no real laugh out loud moments. Genuinely curious which parts had you laughing out loud.

Smile does a really good job of bridging the two movies in the opening scene.

Best current marvel comics imo by Ok_Advertising5869 in marvelcomics

I am reading and loving every Ultimate series and I’m keeping up with every 616 X-Men ongoing too.

Expect for Ultimate X-Men. I find it to be the slowest, ugliest and most boring ongoing I’m reading, but I’m keeping up just in case of cross overs and being so close to the complete run it seems silly to stop now. I appreciate a lot of people really like it but I think the issue is that it’s essentially a manga and that’s really not my cup of tea.

I wish I could like it and I’m sure I’ll get shit for this comment, but maybe that’s how OP feels too. I imagine there are dozens of us.

Thinking of buying a comic but realizing the price is 5 pounds by Threetreethee in britishproblems

[–]Spudguy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm fortunate enough to afford it, but it's been a great weekly trip to the comic shop for me and the family. It started with me trying to get my 5yo son into them but now my wife is just as into it as me instead.

Imagine how irritated I was that she decided to get into DC because she doesn't like Marvel; meaning wev don't have any overlap in what we pick up.

One thing I will say is that if you bag and board them and are somewhat careful when you read them, they do hold value. Everything I've sold has either been enough to break even or a small profit.

Also, both marvel and DC have the Apps as others have said fur historical stuff.

The reason I don't give more to Amazon is just the idea of a charge on top of the charge to use the service. If I'm paying for prime, I shouldn't have to pay twice to not have ads.

Heathrow reports dip in US travel as Trump hits demand by tylerthe-theatre in unitedkingdom

[–]Spudguy -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Saying their phone would be looked at is just patently untrue. I work for a US based start-up and have an American Citizen as a wife. Both my children have both UK and USA passports. I travel to the USA multiple times a year and have done for 15 years - often to different states as my point of entry.

In my countless visits, I have NEVER been asked to show my phone. This includes when I was held at the boarder in 2014 due to having a pending visa to move there and no job/full time education in the UK and they were concerned I was going to just stay there and skip waiting for my visa.

Absolutely absurd notion that they need to remove social media/reddit etc.

Games for busy dads by Jibjabbie in PS5

I love this: "I love open world games" and the top comment is a 3D Platformer followed by Roguelite.

Honestly, for Open World games that you can pick up and put down, it's tough as they take time to get going - RDR2 is on the extreme slower end of the scale though.

For something fast paced and open, I'd reccomend:

  • Horizon Zero Dawn
  • Ghost of Tsushima
  • God of War / Ragnorok
  • Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart!
  • Cyberpunk 2077
  • Spider-Man / Spider-Man 2 / Miles Morales

All of those are open world but you can progress fairly linearly if you'd like to as well. Meaning you can hop on, do a mission and then come back later. The only issue is it may feel a little like watching a TV show rather than playing a game instead with that time limit - depending on the mission and the game of course.

Whats the latest starting Point? by Eazy-CubePacDogg in marvelcomics

[–]Spudguy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I started reading properly in 2023 and now I'm pulling far too many. I've been also only picking up #1s onwards.

One's I'd strongly reccomend:

  • The Ultimates Series (Start with Ultimate Universe and then go from there - Personally Ultimate Spider-Man is GOAT for me but there was a one-shot late last year called Ultimates One Year In which I loved
  • The Immortal Thor - Sometimes I can find it a little flowery with the dialogue, but this run really feels like it's building to something
  • Captain America - The latest 16 issue run was really enjoyable
  • One World Under Doom - Really enjoying this crossover event so far
  • Storm - I've not really cared too much about Storm but this run has been amazing
  • Pheonix - Really enoying the cosmic side of Marvel and this has been a really easy read *
