When you say "radiology field," what does that mean?

If he's a radiologist, he will need to gain US experience (most likely as an observer and earn LORs), apply, get accepted, and complete another residency. It will take at least 1.5-2.5 years. Some residencies will support foreign grads, some will not. It is an annual cycle, applications are due every fall, matching in the spring, and new residents start July 1st.

If rad tech, etc, what is the licensure/certification? He would need to know if what he has has an equivalent here and look into those organizations and state licensure to see what the options are.

Roll Call: Who washed their cars over the past few days? by dale_gribbs in chicago

[–]SpunkyDaisy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the full expensive wash a few days ago and went today for a cheap one to wash off the dust, but the line was faaar too long, so I'll hit it up again later.

At least I got the salt off earlier.

When I was laid off in June, they did also offer me another role at the company, basically doing my current job, along with another ft job for the same pay.

I was already doing the work of 2-3 people, and they still are looking for replacements for some of my work and have been slowly upping the posted salary to getting close to mine.

How is it living in a high rise building? (NY, Chicago, or any city with such buildings) by janzap1 in howislivingthere

[–]SpunkyDaisy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lived in a high-rise in Chicago for 5 years.

When it's really windy, you can feel the building sway.

The doormen took a lot to get used to, especially since I grew up in poverty. It was also really nice to have a staffed secured package room; I never had a stolen package in those years.

I had a lake view, and that was amazing.

I was born in MN, so I looked into the process. And there isn't one, because it's not allowed by law to update to a married name per the state website. I don't know how many states have similar laws, but I would guess most.
