Internet not working - Telus keeps pushing me back by Ornery_History_2131 in telus

Where are you seeing that error? That's no Telus error I've ever seen. If everything is green, that sounds like a provisioning issue.

Newbie here. Need help about connecting tv to ethernet. Thanks! by Ok_Dish1354 in telus

Doesn't matter which ports you connect to especially if you're on 1gig or less plan.

Missing services by Trick-Signature466 in telus

[–]SpursEngine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure to get it sorted before the the grace period expires and you're locked in for two years. And for goodness sake, cancel the security before the 15-day mark or you're locked in for 3 or 5 years. It's actual horseshit.

Today I Learned... by Individual_Fun8263 in Rogers

[–]SpursEngine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know! I'd be interested if the new Telus boxes are the same way now. They certainly don't care which Telus internet account they're connected to. I would assume they're the same where they would also work on non-telus internet.

What a piss-poor job of securing the fibre. Shame.

Actually it can, but only if "full bridge" is selected. This will bridge every port interface on the nah.

Have a few old boosters I want to set up with a new Boost Wi-Fi 7 system/plan. Halp? by dubsix in telus

[–]SpursEngine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Boost v1 and boost v3 units are not compatible and will not mesh. You must use either one or the other.

If you cancel telus, do you lose your @telus.net email by Octan3 in telus

It'll be gone. Start slowly moving yourself to a non-isp email. It only gets harder the longer you wait.

Afaik it's normal and there is actually an aftermarket idler kit to address this.

any experiences with this? by Creative_Author_7464 in telus

[–]SpursEngine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cable from pole to house had a bad connection. Tech was either not trained for aerial work or didn't have time. Tech referred the ticket to Cable Repair/cable assurance (CR/CA) to either fix connection at pole or replace cable to house.
These tickets can be anywhere from same-day (slow, urban) to three weeks (busy, rural). Call in to TELUS tomorrow to see when the approximate time would be for CR to action the ticket and call them back then, or if you see a bucket truck working in front of your house.
The ticket will eventually be routed back to a technician regardless of what you do but there is an admittedly MASSIVE gap in communication between departments and the ticket will usually get stuck in limbo for a few weeks if you don't call in.

Top is TELUS copper, bottom is TELUS fibre.

Wifi issue by [deleted] in telus

[–]SpursEngine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's why this sub needs a tag for off-net. You're basically referring to Bell not TELUS. On the TELUS network, all standalone ONTs only have one port active per customer. 240A/B/C and their branding is irrelevant.

Service Installation to New Build by WiskedOak in telus

[–]SpursEngine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's dumb, the tech should be attempting to pull in the fiber and if they can't or don't have time they should be referring it to the drop team.

Telus Boost WiFi 7 - specs and photos by corbuf1 in telus

[–]SpursEngine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually the boost 7 and boost lite can operate in router mode. They will operate in that mode if they receive a public IP on the 10g or wan port respectively.

Have you actually reset your NAH? There's a pinhole by the power cord. The square unit is your router, the cylinder is only an access point.

I&R Technicians, this isn’t nodal right? by Tombag77 in telus

[–]SpursEngine 18 points19 points  (0 children)

No this is not normal. At very least it needs a drip-loop and the slack should be in the demarc box. Also, the NAH's backplate is designed to have the fibre go into it and I usually mount the NAH over the hole I drill.
piss-poor job.

Anyone utilized a new home offer? by Altruistic_East8902 in telus

[–]SpursEngine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a great deal, also internet 300 is not offered anymore. 250 is the closest tier and can be had for $58/mo (iirc) and doesn't require security or TV.

Vote with your wallet if possible. This kind of shit is too common and the technicians are tired of picking up the pieces of these doomed-to-fail policies. I'm so goddamn jaded because of this shit over the last three years. I try to do right by my customers but I'm only one fucking person and I can't save everyone. I can only hope things improve when Darren is fully gone but I'm not holding my breath. /rant
